I could have started a new thread, but I thought it would be better to try to find this thread and bump it.

Anyway .....

The Maloofs are finalizing an agreement to sell the Sacramento Kings to the Hansen-Ballmer led Seattle group, sources tell Yahoo! Sports.

The deal will sell the Kings for approximately $500 million, with the Seattle group seeking relocation to Key Arena for the 2013-'14 season.

The Seattle group's plans, with support of the NBA, is to play two seasons in Key Arena before moving into a new Seattle arena, sources say.

Looks like I had the same idea as you. Looks like Seattle is close to getting a team.

Sucks for the Kings..but you knew this was coming eventually.

In addition, you knew the NBA would return to Seattle the minute they upgraded and/or built a new arena.

I'd prefer the Kings stay and New Orleans moves to Seattle..but that won't happen anytime soon.

If the Kings do move to Seattle, are they gonna move to the NW division? Portland and Seattle in the same division is a must, but it will be a mess. Who will replace the Kings in the Pacific? Who does the NBA kick out of the NW?

Sucks for the Kings but it's nice to see the Sonics back.

Kinda wish it was NO though or just the Sonics never left to being with.

It's very possible next year we could see the Seattle Sonics and Charlotte Hornets return along with the arrival of the New Orleans Pelicans.

That too. It should be a privilege to have the LA teams come over so much.

So far today was nothing more than one giant tease to those who want a team in Seattle and a big scare in the Kings Fans.

They would probably want new Seattle and old Seattle in the same division though. Natural rivalry.

Very stupid to release the news. They have to save face for the ticket sales

Big money.

That makes sense. Finally the raptors can make the playoffs again.

I will. I was really expecting this 2 years ago, so I'm not in the least bit surprised.

I knew Virginia beach was never a real destination and that they were simply being used as leverage. I talked to one of my cousins who lives in the state of Washington about 6 months ago and he told me that there had been talk all over the news about them potentially getting the Kings.

The Maloof's better not show their face around Sacramento again.

Magoof's idiotic attempt to save face and give fans false hope that they may not be moving. I'm not buying it, and you know what else I won't be buying? Another Kings ticket. After the way Kevin Johnson, AEG, and the people of Sacramento bent over backwards to get a deal done only to have the Maloof's balk when their part of the money was needed (they verbally agreed to pay prior). The deal would have raised the overall sales tax in the city and would have made parking city-wide even more outrageous. In a way, I'm glad the city isn't stuck with that deal or these casino, wannabe native american *******s.

I'll root for them in Seattle, where they will be taken care of and the worst owners in pro sports will have nothing to do with them.

Gonna miss the Queens. Loved the playoff series with the Lakers in 2002.
