What would the general reaction be to a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 trade (with an AI) where I get the best player? I have too much depth and could use a star forward, but I would understand why it would be rejected.

Depends on who the players are. Try one out and we'll give you our opinions on it.
If any non-AI Gm's want to make a swap, my main need would be a top-line LW. Willing to move something like Pesonen + Flaake + Duclair for an upgrade. Will take a look through the AI teams as well though.

Post any trade. Doesn't matter if its a 5 for 1 as long as its fair.

Obviously if your trading for a star forward your going to be giving up something good...quantity doesn't always get you quality, but it can equate to it if your being fair. Post what your thinking of offering up and we'll gladly give ya some input.
JM Liles (he is still very good - 4.5 shooting, skating and puck skills, 5 star senses, 4 star defense. Just has a ****** physical category which brings down his overall.)
Chad Larose
Christian Erhoff
Eric Staal
2017 1st Round Pick

Im 50/50 on this. You give up a lot but Price is by far the best player.
Im ok with this trade than. I think it slightly favours you but not enough to veto it.
Yay. Now everyone else in here, please gimme your opinions. I wanna get this trade done soon because I can't accept my trade with Washington until this one or another goes through due to cap issues.

I think this is in your favor, but I'll give it an OK. Price might be by far the best player, but Montreal gets a great starting goalie in return (Neuvirth), a solid 2nd line center in Stepan, a decent winger in Bowman, plus Hansen and Maata are great prospects.
$10 million dollar salary dump to get my team under the cap for the coming season plus I gain a back up goalie and a tough guy!
Ottawa Senators hope to be on the rise this year and hope to avoid picking in the top 10 and make the playoffs for the first time in 3 years. Here is the current lineup.
I would be willing to move Lupul or Conacher for a RW as I do have a few too many of them. Also Bergenheim or Upshall for a pick/prospect would be cool.
Anyways I will always entertain any trade offers so don't be shy to make them but try to keep in mind what my needs would be.
I also got burned by that 2020 pick thing, I assumed that the top 1st rounder is for the next draft but no its for the draft 4 years from now. Great... Anyone want a 2020 pick for a 2017 or 2018?
I am cool with all the trade offers with CPUs so far.

Yes to the Montreal trade, and yes to the Toronto trade. As for the Minny trade, what does their roster look like post trade? I dont know what their needs are so I dont know if it helps them since they should be a playoff / contending team
Edit: They finished in 29th place last year. Im not sure they should give up Granlund, a young superstar on the rise for a bunch of older players.
Wow this game is ********. I set up the trade with Minnesota and it said that they wanted all of my draft pick, Liles, LaRose, and Erhoff. I accidentally pressed B... came back in and now they don't want any of those things except for Liles and won't accept the deal. What the ****?

Minny's defense is poor, which is why I offered them Erhoff and Liles. Their only NHL defensemen right now are Suter and Klesla. Erhoff and Liles would fill out their top-four.
I checked and after this trade they would have 18 NHL-ready forwards - including five second liners and a first liner.

Thats really odd. Would a trade Minnesota has in place, from another team, affect therir trading block? I have no idea.

So I decided to try sweetening the deal for Minnesota. I tried switching Eric Staal for his brother Jordan (who they want), switching the 2017 1st for a 2020 1st (much higher value) and switching Tommi Kivisto for Steven Kampfer (who they want and has higher trade value).
So let's recap:
1st line centerman who they want, top 4 defender who they want, top 6 defender who they want, another top 4 defender, and a 1st round pick with very high value
for
1st line winger, 2nd line center (Granlund's value is surprisingly low)
They still didn't accept it. "I am way off in terms of value and meeting trade block requirements."
