Good point. I forgot about that. It was indeed present during the offseason though.

Yes. I defy you to find one team that would trade anything for Bryzgalov. There have already been many offers confirmed by solid sources for Luongo.

Bryzgalov - 32 y/o - 2.52 GAA career - .915 Sv% career - 29 shutouts

Luongo has better playoff numbers overall but Bryz didn't perform terribly last season given the circumstances. I don't know I just don't like the idea of moving assests for almost no upgrade at the goalie position when we have the oppurtunity to rid ourselves of Bryz in two seasons if we have to.
I wouldn't compare numbers like that. Bryz enjoyed most of his success playing in the goalie friendly system in Phoenix.

what Gillis is asking cant be two separate asks.

he must be ASKING for B Schenn and Grossman together. it doesnt make sense the way adater put it out.

You can trade him, for a bag of pucks.

NOBODY WANTS THAT CONTRACT.

None of this makes any sense. This entire discussion makes me realize how much people needed hockey back.... this is a beyond absurd rumor and it is getting legs at a ridiculous rate.

Offers confirmed by many sources suggest otherwise.

I think it's just a matter of the Canucks tempering their expectations on a return. They are not getting Schenn, Gardiner, Huberdeau, etc - unless they are adding something very substantial.

Thing is that many teams are interested in Luongo even with his contract.

So because it hasnt come out by "sources" that Bryz is tradeable, it means no one wants him? What logic is that?

Yet plenty of teams are rumoured to be after him. Like I said earlier, apparently teams are asking the Canucks to wait 'til the summer so they can buyout a few players to make room for Luongo.

But buyouts can't occur until the end of this season. So, they are stuck with Bryz for now.

Ok, but how do you know the reason no deal has been made isnt because all those "interested" teams aren't just offering 2nd round picks and salary dumps?

Man, it must be an exciting life with Holmgren as your GM. Poile folks are jealous of you and grateful we aren't you at the same time

Makes no sense to me, unless someone would offer you something of value for Bryz. And Eklund just said it was an e(5) that you weren't in at all, and he has some legit Philly sources. This seems unlikely.

Either we're all idiots or NHL executives value Luongo far more than we amateurs understand.

Or all these reporters are full of hot air.

This team needs to realize they have to start playing team defense before they are going anywhere.
