One of your top 4 D-men to Minnesota

The Wild are in need of some help on the blueline this season, what would the Wild need to send back your way to strike a deal?

I'd do it but Cullen wants to retire here in Minnesota so I doubt management trades him, not to mention his partial NTC.

How about 28 yr old Josh Gorges who usually leads the league in blocked shots. He's a good leader type. He was a plus 14 on the third worst team in the league and makes a respectable 3.9 per year.

Only if you give us Baertschi, Brodie, and your next 5 1st rd picks for Nate Prosser.

I'd like to see Wild management make a play for David Rundblad out of PHX but the asking price would surely be too high

At least I offered up something of significance without even asking for anything. What else is it that your team needs. Is your defence that bad that you may need two defenceman or do you have any forward needs ?

Honest to god I would actually consider Komisarek if Toronto would pick up half his cap hit. He certainly isn't very good but he's still better than Prosser. If the Wild could get him dirt cheap I'd probably do it.

I'd be much more interested in that Rundblad deal though.

I don't see a lot of Montreal games, so I can't really say I've seen him play. Trading for somebody else's 6 year contract seems unwise to me for a non-descript player.

We don't need Rundblad, we need a Willie Mitchell type.

I would say that your a pretty safe bet to get a good return from Geoges. I would say that if he led the league in blocked shots and you devided his salary by the number of shots he blocks, there could be a real argument for someone earning his pay. What else are the Wild's needs. Maybe some toughness ? ( I never thought I'd say that ), another defenceman , some scoring ?

I think as far as scoring/forwards, we're all content to roll with what we have. A lot of us have been kicking around the need for another top 4 defenseman, but to what level is debatable. Personally, I think we are fine on puck-movers and should go for the veteran, 30-32 year old, relatively cheap, stay-at-home D man; somebody we can pair with either Scandella or Dumba (when he gets here in 2 years) to calm them down. Like I previously said, a "Willie Mitchell" type. Loved me some Willie Mitchell back in 2002-03.

Brooks Orpik comes to mind, but I don't see him leaving Pittsburgh.

Trade was edited replaced the 6th rounder with Cody Almond. That I guess still may not be enough but what would it take then to get one of the Blue Jackets D like Nikitin keep the 6th rounder and also add Almond.

if you are looking for puck movers Canadiens have a few to spare
Kaberle or Weber

what do you have to offer?

I think we'd rather have a more defensive D-man, got any of those available? Gorges?

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah thats it . Georges, one of the better defensive defenceman in the league. Got any other needs. Maybe we could help getting you all set up to look like a contender

Depends on what you are willing to move to get him, Setoguci would get you Orpik and Kennedy
