We have the most expensive yet disappointing defense. Might as well have the most expensive and disappointing goalie pair to boot.

The Flyers aren't lacking money. They won't give up more to get money back they don't need.

He's already in Philly. He's been here since late Dec/Early Jan.

Oh that's right, so do you think Brayden and Couturier would be enough to get it done?

Bryz + 90% of our roster players > Luongo IMO. I see no point to this.

Bryzgalov is nowhere near the goaltender Luongo is. I will concur that any mention of trading any of Couterier, Schenn, or any other young player of that ilk is absurd, but Bryzgalov was nothing short of horrendous all year last year. I don't think it's any coincidence that Bryzgalov was a Vezina calibre goalie under Dave Tippet, just as Mike Smith was/is and just as Turco was. As soon as those players leave Tippet's systems they falter.

Luongo has been a very consistent goaltender for the most part in the regular season - he has been off and on in the playoffs, with a few high profile meltdowns.

Bryz had a pretty awesome March. Also, Bryz was successful in Anaheim when he did play.

Bryz has talent and can play. Philly D doesn't help him much. Luongo is absolutely superior, but I have zero interest in acquiring him now.

Bryz had a top 10 SV% in 2007-2008 under Gretzky.

Granted, he had a crappy 2008-2009, but has had a good season without Tippet.

I can't imagine we'd give up a lot for Luongo. Therefore it ain't gonna happen.

I fear trading The Klotz would spell doom for the franchise. You dont want to feel the wrath of The Klotz.

Seriously I have adopted the Flyers as my second team and followed them closely. Luongo would be a huge upgrade over Bryz. Sure he had a couple of melt downs but then in the end its the fickle fan base here in Vancouver. We have been to known as a goalie graveyard. Luongo is a really good goalie. I would be happy to add him to this team. Makes more sense for him rather than the Leafs.

The tune changed very quickly after new news broke out, however I doubt Holmgren will pay the price that is rumoured.

Tallon was suppose to be the front runner as well since that's where luongo preferred and he did the same thing turned it down. Holmgren can be aggressive but doubt it's the price he'd be willing to pay.

It's weird to say this, but...

If Eklund says the Flyers aren't in on this trade, then I am 100% sure Luongo won't be here any time soon.

If the Flyers are your second team, you should definitely know this is what Philly is known for best.

Luongo is the same head case as Bryz. Nothing to gain here, crazy demands, not happening.

Ronny Hextall comes to mind. Hardly a goalie graveyard and I wouldn't say the Flyers have had an elite goaltender since him...I wouldn't have considered Bryz to be top 10 before he signed and he has played a defensive team his whole career where as Luongo suits the Flyers system much better IMO.

Luongo single-handedly turned our franchise around when we seemed lost. The only reason why the "fans" have turned on him is because of the emergence of Schneider. Quite frankly if you ask half the people who are die hard Canuck fans they know that Luongo is still a great goalie.

Difference with our franchises won't be put in the same spot light? Don't know the Philly market well enough in terms of hockey as much as I do Vancouver. I would assume that it's not as high in demand as it is here since we don't have a MLB, NBA, nor NFL team.

How so? When a team that played as ****** as they did in game 7 of the SCF, there's no one to put the blame but the team. Honestly, Canucks played like ****. He was a rock throughout those playoffs beforehand.

33 is not young, and he has what...9 more years on that contract? He's approaching his decline years. That hurts value a lot. It's not like we'd be acquiring a young guy on the rise.
