and see, here is an example of a team with leverage!!!

I would love JB. However...the flyers entire prospect pool actually plays for the flyers. We really cannot afford to trade anybody from the NHL roster.

The kings can get more from somebody else.

DOnt think they'd want Timo at all.
The point is they have to give us something of value in exchange for freeing them from luongo.

Timonen would actually be a suitable short term replacement for a guy who might cost them 6m+ in UFA...or leave without getting them anything in return.

Okay, I will really try a three way deal here, but this time with out John Leclair. The three way deal will include the Flyers, Panthers, and Canucks.

Flyers receive: Kulikov, 3rd(Vancouver)(2013)

Vancouver receives: Grossmann, 2nd rounder(2014)(Flyers), 4th rounder(2013)(Flyers)

Florida receives: Luongo, Cousins, 1st (2013)(Flyers), 3rd(2014)(Flyers)

Just for fun.

@MurphysLaw74: Interesting Flyers in Luongo rumors now. Reliable source told me prior to Burke firing they would be 3rd team in a 3-way trade for Lou to TO.

BOOOM!

Well Nonis is Burkes under studying and was practically running operations as the GM. This is still a possibility.

What would be there for though???

Looks like its a 3 way trade. I remember before the CBA expired Gillis mentioned something about getting a creative deal done on a radio station. This is what he was talking about!!

Edler's name is the only reason I could see the Flyers are interested, other than that, I have no clue.

Also could explain why Grossman's name was brought up.

Or James Reimer. That could also be another name.

Vancouver needs a backup goalie, depth on D, and/or a 2nd line C to replace Kesler while he's out. I don't think they'll be addressing all of those issues.

Bozak was part of the reported deal. That would help you with depth. The possibilities are endless, but one thing I can guarantee, is the Flyers are not trading a defender without getting one back.

Unlike the Leafs, who I want to see ripped off. I like the Flyers. So ditching the Nucks cap, I'll start by saying I have no bloody clue why you guys would even consider this.

The only way I could see some legitimacy is if Bryzgalov absolutely implodes and the Flyers simply do not want to pass on the opportunity to ditch his cap devoid of a penalty; making this an off season acquisition. Even then, assuming Philly does enter the fray. It makes far more sense to pursue Schneider, especially if Gillis' demands are Voracek or Simmonds.

Just seems bizarre, but I do not for a moment believe we'd get Voracek for Luongo. Curious though if the Flyers would be open to moving him for Schneider though. Again, only assuming Byzgalov falls apart and this happens in the off season.

Agree. If this is a three way trade he flyers are in it for Edler. After not getting Weber that had to irk Homer.

We don't need to be a part of this trade...Tor has enough by themselves.

If we're trading for a goaltender, it better be for a young guy with good potential who can play in the backup role in case Bryz ***** the bed and then take over.

I'm not entirely sold on johnathan Bernier. I think he's too small to be a top flight #1 but id give him a shot for the right price.

That's an easy answer because I want Kulikov. I was just spit balling fun and new ideas for us to try and find a way to get a young defender. Florida has been reportedly interested in Luongo too, so a deal with them isn't necessarily out of the possibility.

That's why I could see us involved in a three way deal with Toronto and Vancouver for Reimer.

Ray Ferraro just threw out Sean Couturier's name as someone coming back in a Luongo trade. Doesn't think Canucks can acquire B Schenn.

Toronto must be getting Luongo.

Philly must be getting a blueliner. Franson or Gardiner?

I personally think it would be harder to get Couturier than Schenn.

Any time Cout's name gets brought up in trade talks, I get sick to my stomach.

Ray Ferraro is an idiot if he thinks Sean Couturier's name is involved. Also, Couturier is more valuable than B. Schenn.

And Couturier > B. Schenn > Franson or Gardiner or Luongo in terms of value.

There's no way any deal is including either of the Schenns, Couturier, Giroux, or Coburn/Voracek/Hartnell/Simmonds.

This is probably like Read+ to VAN, Luongo to TOR, and Gardiner to Philadelphia.

Well this thread will keep me laughing for quite a while.

Vancouver will get nothing more than an ok prospect and a pick for Luongo. People thinking he will fetch a 20 year old future star is beyond ridiculous.

Unless that is a heck of a "+," I can't see Matt Read being the main piece Vancouver gets back for Luongo instead of Gardiner. They'd be better of straight swapping with the Leafs, right?

No way for Franson or Gardiner. Did you say Edler? We could start with that.

Grossman's name was thrown out there. We might have him included in this propsed 3 way deal.

Luongo and Edler would push Philly over the top in my opinion.

Couturier + what would get it done?
