Sometimes you need to wait for the game to come to you. However, the games he gets engaged physically in, you're in for a treat.

Yeah the first thing I noticed about him was that he was a lot larger then I realized haha he looks like he could do some serious damage with his body, I know it was the first game with a new team so obviously they'll be some growing pains but I'm excited to see how he progresses throughout the rest of the season

Finn, Rielly, Ashton, and Leivo mentioned as prospects that Nonis really likes moving forward. Over names like Ross and Kadri. Gardiner mentioned too but I dont consider him a prospect.

Tells you how much they think of Leivo.

Gonna be a project though, he'll need AHL seasoning.

Why didn't Nonis mention Kadri as an impact prospect? I have a bad feeling.

He doesn't need to talk about Kadri. Leave the kid alone.. Ross he's not going to be mention because his ceiling isn't as high as some of these other guys. He's going to be a checker / agitator...

2 more goals for Brown so far tonight.

1 assist for Biggs.

Edit: Brown finishes off the hatty by scoring the game winner with 35 seconds left

Broll has 1 assist as well.

Poor Moose Jaw. Trying to avoid their 8th loss in the 10 games since Rielly left. 4-3 Calgary right now.

Kadri is as good as gone. Pains me to say, however hes not getting this team into the playoffs on his own and Luongo may just be able to do that.

Its unfortunately but with the two major media outlets owning the team, they want the extra playoff revenue from tv rights and extra seat sales. Especially after missing out on half of the seasons revenue to the lockout AND after dishing out a kings ransom for the purchase of the org.

6 points out of a playoff spot, Rielly probably won't join the team for another couple of weeks..Good news is Rielly will end up playing for the Marlies in their Calder Cup run

it could be because Kadri has played enough games to be considered an NHLer

From what I have read he's in Toronto right now and will be taking part in the main camp.

Finn, Ashton, and Leivo are all good two-way players. Rielly is just a top notch talent, and hopefully can round out his defensive game (though it's still decent, just not "elite").

Good sign. This teams overall defensive game has been absolutely horrible for almost as long as I can remember.

I'm not exactly sure what they brought Steve Staios in for, but I would love it if he could work with Rielly on his defensive game. I think that would do wonders for him.

Conditioning and strengthening, basically an overseer from what I recall.

I thought it was scout? But that seems just wrong having him do that so I will begin to think it is what you said

I could be quite wrong as well but I think it was something along nutrition or something not a scout per say, specifically for defensemen after he took a year off.

Edit: AFter not being lazy, he is for player development:

-from youtube:Steve Staios, a veteran defenceman of 18 seasons in the National Hockey League, announced his retirement as an active player on Wednesday. The Hamilton, Ontario native played in 1,001 career regular season games and 33 more in the NHL postseason from 1995 to 2012. He has accepted a position with the Toronto Maple Leafs as Player Development Advisor. Here is his 1st G+ Hangout.

Leafs prospect Morgan Reilly will draw attention at camp. It's possible but not probable he makes NHL roster. Will likely play full 5 games.

Good news. Can't wait to see him in the blue and white!

I just hope he shows he's capable defensively I dont doubt his offense but I want him to be a complete product.

Me as well. To stick he needs to show he's more than capable in his own end. He is in junior, but the NHL is a whole different animal. I think ultimately he should be sent back to Moose Jaw. Very intrigued by how he will handle himself in those 5 games though.

To me, there are two scenarios that I would welcome this season

1. A playoff berth
2. A high pick, but where we see Kadri, Rielly, Frattin, etc play leading roles
