I don't see the Canucks trading anyone though as long as they are cap compliant. They are STACKED this year. Don't forget they added Jason Garrison to the defense.
What makes people think Henrique is not going to play wing? I see him on the top line as RW, taking over for Parise.

Haha... old news to some perhaps, but Ryan Carter is featured on a segment on DIY right now (East Coast). Back when he played for the Canes (for 3 months).

Lupul has averaged 47 games played each of the last 3 seasons. Don't want him in the slightest.

That would be 99% of this season

Perfect. There's only 48 games being played this year.

As far as moves go... I think the bare minimum is that Lou re-signs Sykora. I see the healthy lineup being:
Kovalchuk-Zajac-Henrique
Sykora-Elias-Zubrus
Tedenby/Butler-Josefson-Clarkson
Carter-Gionta-Bernier

Petr Sykora will be playing in the NHL this season. More to come.

I expected Lou to re-sign Sykora, but I thought that couldn't happen until after ratification by the NHLPA.

I feel like Henrique is too good of a center to play wing. Maybe move Elias over to wing and have Henrique center him? Then again, Kovy and Adam had great chemistry with each other, so who knows.

From TG's article the other day, he seemed adamant about getting a contract and not just a camp invite.
I'm assuming, if he doesn't re-sign, that's why.
Lou probably wanted to get another look at him in camp, but Sykora (and not entirely unjustified) probably figured a 21-goal performance deserves more than that.
So... which GM is planning to throw $1-2 million at him?

If Sykora gets a two-year deal, which I doubt, can't fault Lou one bit. If he gets a one-year deal then he'd better have something else up his sleeve besides Butler. Even if you want to argue he's finished and the second half proved it after he played on emotion in the first half.

Petr Sykora had a similar year that Andrew Jones had with the Yankees. Slow start, strong in the middle of the year, was absolutely gassed at the end.
Sykora has nothing left. Let him go (looks like Washington).

Not a fan of any of their NHL ready forwards besides Spezza, who obviously would cost a lot of assets and has a huge cap hit.

Michalek could help, but I don't know how much he would cost. He's also a bit of an enigma and somewhat inconsistent. I don't know if Greening adds anything we don't have internally already.
