The draft system is kind of stupid, we drafted Brooks Macek in front of Marshall, and he doing pretty well at this season. 10th in WHL scoring 21+30=51 points in 41 games. But we have lost already the rights for Macek and are waiting these "marshalls" to pan out.

Thank god they extended those rights for European drafted players from 2 --> 4 years, I hope they would add an extra year also for North Americans. That system for Canadian juniors is somehow stupid. US kids usually go that college route.

I would trade these rights to Marshall any day to got those rights for Macek back. But it is what it is, stupid system.
Little over ppg on a Eastern conference leading team isn't that great. Solid but not that great. We could sign him anyway if we wanted but he needs to prove his worth before that imo.. at AHL level maybe. And we have logjam at forward for Griffins anyway.

His father is over six feet and they thought he might grow after being drafted. Such is life I guess. He was a reasonable use of a seventh rounder IMHO.

Eh, it was a late draft pick and he can skate and produce offense. He can also be used at forward. I don't think it was a waste in the slightest, he can at the very least be a guy who can provide depth in the ECHL or AHL. He's playing with some very good teammates at Minnesota and against good competition. With that being said I suspect he'll spend all four years in college.

Andreas Athanasiou to be specific. I thought this was about Almqvist when I clicked it.

Bodin played his second game in a row in Division 1. No points today, but he was on the ice for two empty net goals against so it seems he's playing a fairly important role on that team.

how many games was it?

during or after the draft i read that sproul's favorite player is mike green. in '09, green set a new NHL record for d-men for consecutive games with a goal (8 games).

Nedomlel had a goal and was +2. Paterson with a not so good return, 29/34 saves in a 6-5 win. Halifax didn't dress Frk/MacKinnon/Drouin.

Paterson gave up 5 goals on 34 shots but they won 6-5.
Frk, along with Nate and Drouin, wasn't playing yet.
Nedolmel was +2 and scored his first of the season.

When Sproul scores, he will be minus player, and whe he doesnt score, he will be plus player. Weird guy.

His points-scoring streak is now 9 games, 8+4=12, 4 PIM, +3.

Too bad those junior leagues doesn't have shots as a statistical category. It would be really nice to know how much Sproul shoots per game.

Scoring may goals as a blueliner and having a heavy shot I'd predict it's definately north of 5 shots/game....

Usually good defencemen shootin percentage is somewhere at ~8%. That would mean every goal takes 12.5 shots on average.

13 goals on in 25 games... that would mean 162.5 shots --> 6.5 shots per game.

Somewhere there... probably.

That looks about right to me. When I watched him play he wasn't afraid to shoot the puck.

Thanks for posting this! With his size, speed and ability to get to the front of the net it's no surprise he is tearing it up this season. I think I might put him up right behind Jarnkrok and Jurco as our most promising scoring line forward among prospects. I don't really consider Nyquist a prospect anymore and I don't know that Tatar is a slam dunk to play on a scoring line. Only time will tell with TT, probably beginning next year.

Yes, they just didn't sign him. He plays in the ECHL now, 3 points in 22 games.

Quine traded to Belleville for three 2nd rounders, per @MarkEdwardsHP.

I would think one of the top teams must be interested in Sproul? Or should the Greyhounds make the playoffs?

Yeah, Belleville is good team, pretty deep on C now, with Gaunce already there and they just got Minnesota prospect Tyler Graovac from Ottawa who is the only one on the team with better ppg than Quine right now. Let's hope Malcolm Subba carries them deep.

Some talk that Sproul might be traded per OHL section but not much. Trade deadline is today. 8 teams per conf. make the playoffs and it's almost guaranteed that Sproul's team is going to make it. They aren't going for a deep run though.

Jarnkrok and Backman had an assist each tonight. The latter is up to a stellar 20 points, +12 in 37 games. Calle is 7th in league scoring, Mattias is 7th in D scoring.

Quine is apparently being slotted to 2C spot.
