I don't think the Devils have a forward close to cracking the roster other than Butler, who pretty much has a spot anyway.
He reminds me of Andreas Salmonsson only bigger, and maybe not quite as bad. I'm not sure Salamander played 50 games in the NHL. I remember him scoring a goal on Hasek once that someone shot off of him just like the goal Tedenby scored last season.

I've made my opinion known on him. I don't like him at all. I'm through with the regret about not drafting Carlson though. He's doing okay in the AHL, but he just had a hot weekend. He's been on what I think is Albany's 3rd line most of the season. Albany is a team that was getting shutout or only scoring just a goal many times this season. Sometimes Tedenby was the best player on the ice there. Not confident at all with him in the NHL though.

If a player like him can't score at a 15 goal a year pace in an 82 game season I have no use for him. Unlike Josefson who's a faceoff guy, and someone like Zubrus who's big, and plays a totally different kind of game. I expect Tedenby will be given breaks since he was a first rounder, but I can't see any chance he's in the NHL over Butler.

I think, to flourish, Sykora has to be here with Elias, if not I don't see him doing much for another team.
While this is true I believe, Elias was 10th in the league in points last year. 78 points last year which was tied for third most in a season in his career. That was playing with Sykora, and Zubrus for most of the year, and on a mediocre average PP. Though I'm sure he got a nice amount of points that he picked up from the PK too.

Elias was our most productive player 5 on 5 points wise. I think it helped that he didn't have to worry about playing against the other teams top defensive pairing.

He was paired against the top lines, and sometimes top defensive pairings too though.

Top scoring lines aren't always the best defensive lines for a team.

The point was that he was being used to shut their top lines down. Not that they were supposed to shut Patty's line down.

Yea. What I am saying is that it could be harder to score (get a point) against a team's 3rd line than that team's 1st line.

Dipietro too. We always make that trash can look like the goalie he was projected to be before the days where he could get out of bed without pulling something. Nilsson will likely be in the minors unless trash can Rick is healthy. Our AHL Devils scored 3 goals against Nilsson last month.

Nabokov we've always done well against, even when he played in San Jose. I kinda wish we'd play another team though. We usually come out flat on opening night the last few years. Last opening night we actually played good, and won was against the Isles in Newark in 08.

Depends on the opponent.

Midweek home opener vs Carolina/TB/Buffalo/Florida or any other non-rival will be challenging to fill seats, especially if this Kovy fiasco worsens.

You can debate the Tedenby pick all you want, but making a blanket statement like that is incorrect. There are plenty of great, smaller players to be had.

Hey look, someone thinks the team's interaction with the fanbase has been good, or at least better than before.

And then there’s the @DevilsGenerals account. This handle is the voice of the New Jersey Devils Army. That’s right, the New Jersey Devils have an army of raving fans that tweet, blog and Instagram all things NJ Devils! These dedicated tweeters help rally the troops and keep the engagement levels going online.

The New Jersey Devils have truly shown how to build a community and keep it going through the toughest of times: a hockey team that hasn’t played a game for almost half the season. Take notes, NHL – this social media team knows what they’re doing!

I wouldn't mind bringing him, I just wonder what their asking price would be. They definitely value him higher than we do.

I hope that's the reason why. Nobody could look at our forwards and think standing pat is the right choice.

Apparently, some people on NJDevs are 'already' buying tickets for the opener on Long Island off StubHub by buying the previously scheduled game (Isles-Columbus) on that day, then opting to keep the tickets afterwards when the opponent changes
