It's already been stated that Gardiner is not being traded. Our fans would flip.

So when Nonis said he wouldn't give up a young player for an older player, he really meant he'll give up every top young prospect we have for an older player.

Kovalchuk scored a game-tying goal, and then the OT winner to bring Russia their first World gold medal in many years. But that doesn't count, right?

That's why they insisted on getting Tanev. Nonis is a cagey fellow.

All you just listed is team accomplishments. Is Perry better than Ovechkin and Stamkos too?

Indeed. He has spit venom against Toronto / the Leafs on HF before. I'm sensing it's just another post made in bad taste.

Should we file that with the:
'Ron Wilson is our coach for the future'
'Brian Burke will be given the time to do a proper rebuild'
'We are perfectly content going with Scrivens/Reimer next year'

statements.

And change the third to a fifth. I hear this is a deep draft.

depends if the first flips to the following year or becomes a second. I can't think of any deals where they flipped to a second. If it shifts back a year....would prefer the draft pick.

"Ron Wilson is our coach for the future". Said by Brian Burke. Later he was forced to fire Wilson. It wasn't Burke's decision to fire Wilson.

"Brian Burke will be given the time to do a proper rebuild". Said the previous owners. He was fired by the new owners.

"We are perfectly content going with Scrivens/Reimer next year". As of right now, this is exactly the tandem we have.

What did you prove?

These threads have taken a toll on me. I can't read this drivel anymore yet I can't stop opening this thread. For the love of God please let this trade go down on Sunday.

Anyways I'm not expecting Gardiner. I'm just having some fun.

I predict Luongo to FLA.

Things change very quickly and GM's public statements are not necesarily always true.
How many Leaf fans expected to see Burke fired three days before training camp. How many Flyers fans expected to see Carter/Richards traded shortly after signing big contracts.

Oh man, you and me both. I can safely say that I've felt this way since about 5 days after the Canucks were bounced by the Kings and this whole Luongo storyline began. The reality is absolutely no new developments have occurred either unless you believe that the firing of Burke was Luongo's fault and nothing else like some try to have us believe.

Am I missing something or are there a lot of crazy people in this thread?

The three way deal the gets the Canucks Perry looks bizarro. I'm not missing anything in the new CBA right? Perry is still a UFA come July 1 right? and with the cap dropping significantly it would be very hard for them to resign him going forward.

So the Canucks deal Luongo and they end up being the front runners for the cup this season but could easily end up with nothing but a 2nd round pick out of the Luongo deal?
