So how long will Jamie Benn's holdout be?

How about:

Chris Stewart + 2013 1st + 2014 2nd?

Oh, understood. But I have always rooted against your team. We played each other 5 out of 6 years in the playoffs between '96 and 2003. We only beat you that first time, on the memorable Marchant around Ledyard-blowing-a-tire goal in OT. I hate the Stars.

Is Benn a natural centre? I thought he played wing in junior and I know he played wing in Dallas up until last season when he was tried in the middle.

Jamie Benn is has been playing center for the last two seasons and was Dallas' #1 center last season. He can also play all forward positions.

I hardly think a package with plekanac and subban is lowballing. Subban and Benn are pretty close and plekanac who isn't chopped liver will replace a lot of what Benn gives you.

Guilty as charged, I love the thrill of trades.. But it isnt a bad trade value vise TBH.

I bet many teams would love to have Benn on their team. I doubt he holds out for long though. Maybe a few games before getting what ever he is asking for.

If Edmonton wants Benn, RNH is coming back. And more.

Not to hate on Backlund or anything but Dallas doesn't need him anymore after we acquired Eakin and esp since Eakin has been very good in the AHL this year.
I would love to get Bouwmeester though.

What about something around Daley, Wandell/Glennie, and Vincour for Bouwmeester? Just spitballin.

@undecided I just realized I used the wrong word in perennial, my bad LOL. I meant to say up and coming.

but most of last year his wingers were Steve Ott and Adam Burish.
And he still managed to get 27 goals and 63 points.

Perennial: 3 c : regularly repeated or renewed : recurrent <death is a perennial literary theme>

He has yet to score 30 goals or achieve 80 points at all, much less do it perennially.

Trust me, Benn is my favourite player in the league and although he had an incredible season it would very unlikely for him to be a perennial 80 point player. Once, twice, 3 times sure its plausible, perennial is unlikely considering there are very few in the league.

I don't know Oleksiak, but he'd have to be a great prospect for me to consider this. We'd move Benn to wing possibly for Galchenyuk? He's got a siiiiick shot (Benn), well both haha.

He'll be inked within hours of the cba being ratified. And it'll probably be Eberle money.

I need to start smoking that Canadian ****.
OK, it's just as reasonable to say we give up the best player (perennial 20 goal scorer/50 point player), our best defensive centre who can really put up points AND WE GIVE UP A 2nd.

50 points? More like 60. And probably 70-75 in his prime.

Benn isn't "holding out." The CBA hasn't been ratified. GMJN probably already has a deal done with him. We'll probably hear an announcement this weekend.

Eventually the plan would be for Benn, Eller and Galy to center the top 3 lines. Kinda like line one, line two and line two a kinda thing. Oleksiak would be 5-6 guy with Tionordi on the shutdown unit.

Well I have to admit, it's a lot better here in BC than that Texas schwag.
Benn is our best defensive center too, plus he can like a truck when he wants to, and can do this.

and this

I think we'll keep Benn instead.
