Some talk that Sproul might be traded per OHL section but not much. Trade deadline is today. 8 teams per conf. make the playoffs and it's almost guaranteed that Sproul's team is going to make it. They aren't going for a deep run though.
Glad to hear Quine got traded to a team that can make a deep run. Really don't care about Sproul's team as I think he will likely slide right into the Grand Rapids lineup if his team gets bounced. It is probably bad news for a Billins, Almqvist PP type in GR. I don't know that Quine would force his way in, but I am fairly certain Sproul or Ouellet should their teams was out early, which is very unlikely in Ouellet's case, will both draw into the lineup.

Watching that AA video ... guy skates through OHLers the way Fedorov skated through NHLers. Not saying he's going to be Fedorov... But maybe a Fedorov-lite

Marchenko had a PP-assist last night, first point since Nov 11th. He was -1 and had 18:20 of icetime. So far he has 4G 4A and a -2 in 36 games.

Pulkkinen will finally have some offensively skilled linemates tonight. Playing with Ben Eaves and Teuvo Teräväinen who are both fast and skilled guys.

That's a nice jump in ice-time from 12 minute average to 18min. Hopefully that will last (if so, I'm starting to like that new coach).

He's had poor chemistry with TT so far.

I wouldn't be too worried about that, since I think they've played like 6 games on the same line and TT played center in all of those games. First of all, those games were played at the start of the season when Pulkkinen was not producing with anyone, now he looks completely different. Secondly, TT hasn't been comfortable at center and he only started getting points when he was moved to left wing. Now they have Eaves at center who can play with anyone and is one of the top players in the league as long as he stays healthy.

Yeah. At first I thought his scoring was a bit of a fluke, but he's really involved in the offense. And the points are still almost exlusively at even-strength. I think he went into the year as their no.4 or no.5 D and I'd make a case he's their no.1 now.

Little late here, but in regards to our OHL prospects:

Alan Quine - Yes he was traded to Belleville and is slated as the 2nd line center. It is interesting to note that Belleville is the only team in the OHL to use an international ice surface. Quine's speed could play a major role. For those who kept bringing up Quine's +/- stat, Belleville plays to there strengths which is Malcom Subban, so naturally they play a pretty defensive system. His defensive game will certainly be tested. Belleville right now looks like the class of the East with the moves they made (Along with Barrie potentially losing Schiefele). So Wings fans can expect a deep run with this team, they could easily be in the OHL finals.

Ryan Sproul - Was one of the big names rumored to be on the move, but he gets to sit tight for the rest of the season. For those asking about how many shots he takes per game, I can't give you an exact number, but in the few SSM games I have saw, it's a lot. He loves to use his shot especially on the powerplay. A number of his assists have come just by firing at the net when he can and someone taps in a rebound. As for his team, I can't see them moving ahead in the standings, and Windsor got some pieces at the deadline that could move them up, but they will be in the playoffs in all likelihood. It could very well be a quick exit as they will likely be facing a London or Plymouth team.

Jake Paterson - Not much has changed, as a 94' his name didn't pop up in trade rumors. His team currently holds the 8th and final playoff spot, but as said before with Windsor adding pieces and Saginaw dealing there leader (Trocheck) I don't think Saginaw will be playing hockey come playoff time.

He coached him in the MHL few years back. So the new coach knows him very well and in general trusts young players.

Also, the last four games have gone to the OT. So ice-time is a bit inflated.

But in general, if Marchenko plays around 17-18 minutes and has good playoffs, then he had a good season. Especially if consider his injury a year ago.

Didn't work tonight, Filppula's injury issues caused the lines to "live" quite a lot. Another 2-2 OT game...

Edit: game went to shootout so no points for Pulkkinen today either.

Edit2: got to try as the 3rd shooter for Jokerit but couldn't roof the puck(based on radio), Jarkko Ruutu scored twice in the shootout to seal the victory for Jokerit though.

I've been a big fan since the day he was drafted but even I'm impressed with his development. He's definitely a guy to keep your eye on as he seems to keep improving. Thank you so much for the consistent updates.

In case anyone is interested, here are the highlights from Mursak's last game in Slovenia. He scored a couple, and his first goal was a beauty.

Don't get to see Ouellet much in Halifax but in his game tonight it made me wonder why he was a 2nd round pick lol. Steal for sure, and Frk showed discipline tonight.... All around good news for Wings fans

Not a bad start for Quine in Belleville

Marshall with Minnesota's game winning goal last night + was 2nd star. De Haas no points and McKee still suspended.

Was at the Guelph/Barrie game and Athanasiou really didn't do a whole lot offensively. That speed was still a factor and his defensive game was fairly decent, not great, but not many mistakes in his own zone.

No points for Järnkrok or Bäckman. CJ was a -1, got 19:06 of icetime and was 70% on faceoffs. MB was +/- 0 and got 21:43 of icetime.
