My thoughts are Jbo can't hold Brodie's jock strap on the PP, the way that Brodie carries the puck into the offensive zone and QB's the PP is superior to Jbo in every way. Our PP should be much better this year and I think Brodie will be our 3rd most productive dman. I think Gio and Wideman will have very good years, and Brodie should slightly edge out Jbo IMO. Bouwmeester looked like a lost man under Sutter, hopefully he regains his old form under Hartley.

The last word in your paragraph is the difference. Hartley is going to go with the known quantities. Brodie is going to have earn his time and that is going to be tough in a shortened season. I'd love to see him step up and make Bouwmeester expendable (a trade chit with some good value) but this season is a sprint and coaches tend to go with the guys they know and can trust. Brodie will be an unknown quantity to Hartley.

Cervenka was able to practice for 45 minutes with the team today he won't be looked at by team doctors until training camp(Sunday) but it looks like if isn't ready for the opening night it won't be a long wait.

Overall I was a little bit optimistic especially on the back-end. Matt Stajan and Lee Stempniak both greatly exceeded expectations, While Jarome and Giordano were the biggest disappointments. Goaltending was atrocious this season there is no doubt about that.
