Wild to start the season with a three game home stand...

Quote:
The NHL schedule cannot be released until the players ratify the new collective bargaining agreement Saturday, but the Wild is expected to open at home Jan. 19 against the Colorado Avalanche.

The original schedule had the Wild slated to open at Colorado before team officials petitioned the league to reconsider because Jan. 19 is Hockey Day Minnesota.

The Wild's 48-game schedule is expected to start with a three-game homestand. After the opener, the Wild will play the Dallas Stars on Jan. 20 before Ryan Suter will get to play his former team, the Nashville Predators, on Jan. 22.

Three-game home stand sounds like a good set-up for a great start.

Like Leipold has any money left.

Quote:
"We feel very badly for the fans," Wild owner Craig Leipold said Thursday.

Indicating that the Wild is preparing to unveil a number of incentives and perks to fans, Leipold added, "We're going to show in the next week how we feel about it and the statement that we want to make to our fans. They'll know how we feel."

Rolston and Brunette likely to retire

Love the little shot Rolston took at NJ fans in his text to Zach.

Quote:
He will so love playing there (in Minnesota), just the energy in the building compared to what he's used to.

Oh snap!!!! Do Devils' fans still like Rolston? Cuz they could end up turning on him in a hurry just like another certain player.

Rolston said he would look back at his time with the Wild.

"It was my best years in the league," Rolston said. "I loved playing for Jacques [Lemaire]. He was the best coach of my career. And to play in front of those fans, they were incredible."
Pretty big compliment.

Funny how some of the better leaders we've had really respected Lemaire and saw him as a great teacher. Walz loved the guy.

Man I will miss those two! Great players from a time when the Wild had a team worth watching. Brunette went through quite a few lean years, but man when Rolston was scoring goals we had an exciting group with Gabby, Butch, and Demitra

Its nice to hear how Rolston loved playing in front of the fans at the X. I hope when that place gets rocking this year Parise and Suter see what they have been missing playing in those mickey mouse franchises hahaha out east. This is the state of hockey

I don't expect him to get much of a reaction at all. If he does get a reaction though it'll probably be mixed, maybe slightly more boos than cheers.

Hm, so we start the season against one team that is easy to hate, one team I would say I beyond hate, and another team that we will probably start hating hardcore this year.

Why would there be boos for Zanon? Its not like had a choice in being traded last year. I on the other hand would applaud him for all his sacrifices his body went through in the time he was here.

Wednesday night at 7, I am hearing the Wild is looking to hold a scrimmage at the X. It would be open to the public.

But here is the really cool thing. There is a chance it will be televised on Fox Sports North with a pregame show. Obviously, going through the cost of broadcasting an intrasquad scrimmage is pretty unique, so we will see. But all signs point toward a 7 p.m. scrimmage.

Still some moving parts here, so stay tuned.

Most interesting will be if the Wild expands its camp roster for the game by bringing up the Houston Aeros (a lot of teams are bringing in their minor-league teams for a scrimmage) or at least a handful of the top prospects to get a good size for the scrimmage.

Training camp details will be released by the team soon.
