This team isn't holding it back, they hated Hunters style. I figured at the time he left he was being shown the door and allowed to go out with dignity.
maybe they did hate hunter's style, but poti was at home for hunter's entire run.

First I've heard of this.

Tom Wilson...interesting...he's physically ready that's for sure. I think with the increased amount of games in a short time span, we are gonna need more players which means Wilson might see a few games this year.

see if he cam hack it with the big boys. Going from last cut from team Canada to making NHL roster in 1st year is quite the roller coaster

Okay going to go with some assumptions here. Lets assume Brooks Laich and Backstrom are both healthy, think its possible McPhee is bringing Wilson in to see if he can make it with the big club in order to trade some people away?

Would love to see the kid play a few games, but I'm not sure the Caps or any team have the luxury of experimenting with such a short season. 1 bad losing streak and they're playing catch up.

Does anyone know what time the players are skating at Kettler? Is it open to the public now?

The roster wasn't physically suited for Hunter's style, but credit where credit is due: the team (and Dale) did a pretty good job adapting and turning things around about as well as they could have.

Caps are the tallest and heaviest team in the NHL.

Doesn't mean much when you have Jeff Schultz and fat Ovechkin singlehandedly pushing the into the outlier.

Is that still true with no Steckel, Fehr and Knuble?

I'd be stunned if Wilson makes the team even with the injuries but why not take a look. The kid is going to be a stud, just needs another year or so.

Wilson is not ready for the NHL. I repeat not ready.

He is not even consistent in juniors.

as its documented that both laich and backstrom are hurt and likely not ready to skate when camp starts, i'd say to assume they are calling the kid in because they need bodies and might have a roster spot open to start the season.

RE: Wilson...great for the kid to get exposed to, albeit a quick one, a NHL training camp. Barring a bunch of injuries can't imagine him sticking...and no way past six games.

Backstrom's disk issue is likely not degenerative, so the injection will simply aid in reducing the swelling and allowing him to heal faster.

So in his case, a quick fix is good.

In my case, the pain started coming back in the early AM hours Monday morning (had the shot friday @ 5:30 PM), and as of last night, the pain is fully back.

Hopefully, I can get surgery. Until then, it's Norco 10 325's. Heck, I've got a prescription for 120 at a time with 4 refills. My germantown specialist wants me on Oxycodone, and I've gotta head down there to pick up a prescription from him today for 40 Oxy's to try out. Thank Gawd for pain meds, and I hope Backstrom is taking some and not suffering. It's foolish to suffer when you don't have to.
dont get on the Oxy's.
get a really good Chiro/Osteo/Kinesiologist person who actually cares about their patients.

you do NOT need Oxy. that **** is naisty !

The reason for oxycodone is because it's easier on the liver than hydro and acetominophen is useless ... the bone spurs are embedded into the spine... so they're thinking pain meds without any acetominiphen: oxycodone. I will have to be careful.

Only thing is, Schilling's cap hit is $1.775, so maybe somehow we can move a few players, though we would still be under the cap if we took him on.

Also, one would have to assume GMGM doesn't believe Poti is close to game action, Schilling is already in peak game shape. I think he sticks in the short-term.
Why is he getting $ 1,775.? He must be really good. Alzner is only getting $1,285.

That's not why. He's still on an entry-level deal; that cap hit just includes potential bonuses.
