This is on my wish list. A german, a player named Louie, a mullet and a 'stache.

I'll take it.

Krupp's 95-96 playoff performance was one to remember.

I talked to a legendary NHL scout this morning btw in an entirely different matter. He was in UFA last week. He really praised Gibson & Jones on US. Said Jones will most likely go #1. JT Miller he thought needs a better jump in his game but said he is a clutch to be a productive NHL regular.
Said Swedes like Arvidsson & Sandberg were lightweights destined for European rinks, but also liked de la Roses game (questioned his hands a little), liked the 2 Finns in Barkov & Rasmus Ristolainen. Plus he really liked a German player (darkhorse & future sleeper) called Leon Draisaitl. Remember that name. He is known for picking up gems in the later rounds this guy Hint Hint...
Leon will probably go top ten next year. I don't know about later rounds...

Draisaitl is no longer a sleeper. He showed the world what he was capable of against the Canadians on opening night.

cool player types to have on the rangers.

Like, imagine if McI was German; Gabby had the worst mullet; Boyle had a 'stache like Lanny McDonald (google!); and Kreider's name was Louie. We'd just be a cooler team.

You have a strange concept of 'cool', Ola.

You can view video of Fasth's goals here. Sorry, there's no way to embed.

From yesterday, his first goal was a simple rebound in front. His second was a beauty, where he picks up the puck along the end line, circles along the boards and into the slot, and rips a nasty wrist shot stick side. The assist was a sweet no-look pass to the point, where the trailer blasted home a slapper.

Lindberg's videos can be viewed here.

Calle Andersson's are here. Only 2 highlights plus an interview (in Swedish, obviously) for him.

Fast's offense has always been there. His skating is slick and he changes direction on a dime. I think he may be the Rangers best pure offensive prospect in the entire system (and that includes Kreider). He is elusive in the corners in the same way Datsyuk is. Can't wait to see him NA.

super-excited for miller, lindberg and fast to hopefully upgrade our bottom 6 and give us some actual talent on those 2 lines

The last time I saw him he reminded me of Louie Eriksson. Same type of excitement when he has the puck. Same elusiveness and skating skills. Not saying they should hope for him to be one of the best wingers in the NHL, but that is the style of game he plays.

Thanks. So his ceiling is 1st line, not just 2nd?

Until he comes to NA I don't think we can say. Very few people are true first line players. I think it's safe to say he has second line potential. First line potential? Too early for that I think.

I think he does. Many others will disagree with me.

This. I'm not saying it can't be done this season, but next season is the absolute best one for the Rangers to go for it. Guys like that can really improve our bottom six.

Just wondering, why did Fast get drafted so late? I wouldn't be saying this if he was drafted in the 2nd round, but the sixth round? Did he grow since being drafted? Were there concerns that he is injury prone? Or does he lack hockey iq? I don't get it.

Are you in Sweden, or from 1976?

He was playing in a lower league at the time and the Rangers scouts found him and really liked his skillset. I think it was just a matter of the Rangers scouts putting in the time to go out of their way to go see him as compared to some other teams.

He was playing in Swedish juniors and wasn't really on many teams' radar. It was just really good scouting by the Rangers.

Hello!

Yeah hopefully it's a Datsyuk/Zetterberg move for us. How sweet would that be?

Also, good to see you back.

well we did in 2000 with The King... just imagine if the Wings selected Lundqvist instead of the NYR. Rangers do well for late round picks....
