Anyone know if Rundblad played with OEL at all?
At times he has but not recently where he's put up consistent plus night efforts. He's also been on the ice for numerous PP goals for which he wasn't credited with a point or plus minus. Rubdblad has incredible puck skills and his shiftiness has forced opposing teams to take penalties as well.

When he is plugged in Rundblad is an exciting player to watch. Could be the most talented player in the entire organization puck skill wise.

Just heard a radio interview where Tippett said he spent a week with the Pirates before Christmas. Coincides with the winning streak. Praised Rundblad and said he'd have a chance to 'come up with us' whatever that means.

Rundblad certainly impresses with his skill, but he frightens me out there sometimes because he can make poor decisions with the puck. When carrying the puck up ice he has a tendency to make an "extra-fancy" move such as dropping a pass between his legs to his defense partner when a standard pass would suffice. Or when holding the puck at the blue line and faced with some pressure, he is prone to trying something like kicking the puck back to his stick to deke the defender. In many cases, these moves lead to a 2-on-1 the other way, with his partner left back there alone.

When Rundblad gets fancy in the offensive zone, he can create some great scoring chances and it certainly helps the team. But in my opinion, he needs to pick his spots better because too often during the odd man rushes against us you'll see his #2 jersey trailing the play.

Defensemen Bryce Lampman and Russ Sinkewich have signed Professional Tryouts (PTO) with the Portland Pirates, and defenseman Boris Valabik has signed an AHL Contract with the Pirates.

I'll have more later....

I really feel for you guys. It must really suck to have your top players disappear all of the sudden.

He's 6'7". Between him and Brodeur, there's going to be two towers on the back end.

Villemaire returned to junior from Gwinnett.

SJ Sea Dogs are certainly not a powerhouse this year.

Bryce is a AHL veteran who had been w/ Orlando(ECHL) Valabik also is a veteran, that should be familiar to Gwinnett fans when they had Atlanta (now WPG) AS their affiliate...

Interesting to know about Sinkewich.

typically, the answer is no, the team votes on who gets the C and the A's, AND if the Captain is not there, as Bolduc is/was, even when hurt, they go without a Captain, and have the Assistant (s) fill that role.... Summers keeps the 'A', unless that changes.

Szwarz, is the Forward A, THAT WASN'T recalled by the Coyotes.

it's likely that there will be at least 1 internal vote to replace OEL as an assistant Captain in Portland, it also depends on if/when Miele and Bolduc are reassigned after this mini TC.

BTW, Valabik is working through Visa issues returning from the Czech League, but when he's cleared, he has been assigned # 7, Lampman has been Assigned # 27.... nothing yet on what # Sinkewich was assigned.

just announced: Sinkewich assigned # 4

6-3 win tonight, 3 point game for Shinnimin, Szwarz and Brophey. Visentin with another 39 saves which gives him 126 in his last 3 games (131 SA).

It's tough to not get overly excited looking at Visentin's numbers lately.

Its good to see some of the younger ones getting an opportunity. Shinniman and Martinook are two skill guys that have been buried.

Martinook has been injured much of the year and last night was his first game back and looks like he got injured again.

Shinniman buried him self with very poor play, however he has turned it around the last month or so. He's starting to show the type of player that we thought he would be.

2-1 Pirates in the 3rd....

14-8/30-11 after 2-SOG;

Chris Conner, (7), from Evan Brophey (3 on 3);

Brodie Reid, (8), from Patrick Rissmiller/Yanni Gourde for Worcester;

there indeed was a fight between Rechlicz and Bonneau;

AS for the lines, it's hard to describe unless Mannix gives them but can say that Bloodoff was on the 4th line, and the AHL Site italicizes who starts.
