Can't think of anyone else I'd rather start the season against. Should be a good one.

I just want to see the Flyers win and Neal get clobbered for what he did to Couts/Giroux last season.

I figured the vote with the owners would of been 29-1 or 29-0 with Jacobs voting against or substaning.
Sather could always call Montreal if he wants to unload Redden. He already took em behind the woodshed once with Gomez.

Hartnell shouldn't shave it. Let the betamales keep their babyfaces.

If he doesn't shave his beard he's liable to get it grabbed during a scuffle by some of those degenerate pens.

Dustin Lead on twitter was saying we would be playing Buffalo(at) on the 20th. I don't think we will have back to back's with Pitt to open up.

Is anyone else really pumped to see Luke Schenn play or is it just me? I don't think he will be a defensive savior, but at 22/23 with 4 years of NHL experience and previously highly touted... its nice to have a young gun to help the team. Also I feel like hes going to be tremendous in the locker room and just seems to be a team guy... Team guys are awesome no matter how skilled they are.

L. Schenn is the player I am most looking forward to seeing this season.

I'm actually pretty pumped to see him as well.

This season has a lot of storylines.

How does Giroux follow up last season. Does bryz finally put it together.

I also REALLY hope Couts and B Schenn have a good season. I donít want to spend the next few years wishing we traded them for Weber.

Can anyone confirm that Schenn has lost any weight? I am not saying it was a problem, but people were saying Toronto made Schenn put weight on in the last few years.

i'm pumped too. i heard from some leafs fans that playing against tough competition brings out the best in him (kinda like Coburn playing against ovy). he may take some time but i think he'll turn out to be a really good player.

can't wait to see him dish out some crushing hits on Crosby, Malkin, Neal etc.

Correct. Former enforcer Andrew Peters confirmed it on Twitter. He's been working with the organization for the last few months, so I'm sure he's heard from someone who knows.

that means we'll probably only have to wait until the second game of the season to see how atrocious Leighton is

I doubt it. PL said Bryz will be playing a lot this season as he is better when he gets more starts. So Michael Leighton can **** off.

Two games in less than 24 hours? lol I thought there was some rule where there had to be at least 24 hours between game time starts.

The times posted aren't confirmed as yet. The 24-hour rule, to my knowledge, was never a concrete principle. There seems to be a policy of 21 hours. An example of when the Flyers played twice with starting times less than 24 hours apart (under the prior CBA):

Quote:
Fri Nov 20, 2009 at San Jose 10:00 PM
Sat Nov 21, 2009 at Coyotes 8:00 PM
http://flyers.nhl.com/club/app

I think, too, it depends on travel issues. IIRC, the NHL has/had a 2-hour travel window where games could be played similar to the possible first two games of this season if the traveling team (Flyers) had a trip of under two hours (Philly to Buffalo, for example). And perhaps with the condensed schedule, the rules will be adjusted slightly which is something the NHLPA would likely scrutinize.
