Niemi will be moved today for relatively cheap. PM if interested.

Thornton/Boyle still being shopped. Marleau, Clowe and Havlat as well.

Prospect-wise I'm shopping Kevin Poulin and Brendon Kitchon for a forward prospect
Visnovsky (via his agent) has announced that he would stay in the KHL for the rest of the season. You should check with the commishs if he will come back to play for another team (I doubt it but we're in a game).

TRADE BLOCK

Rene Bourque (looking for futures)

Tomas Plekanec could also be available but only if a young proven top 6 forward is coming back as part of the trade.

Also listening to other offers as long as it makes sense.

PM!

Douglas Murray

Ottawa 2nd 2013 (Acquired by STL, Acquired by MIN)
Justin Falk

With Demers and Braun both ready for regular NHL minutes, pending UFA Douglas Murray was the odd-man out. Our team has largely been criticized for a lack of speed in the last seasons, and while Douglas was a solid defensive presence, his lack of footspeed often exposed us. Glad to have a guy like Falk in the organization to push for a roster spot, and a 2nd for a deep draft.

In other news, we've brought back Dominic Moore to the team on a 1 year 850k contract. We're glad to have Dom back in the fold, and feel he will contribute greatly to our playoff run.

Niemi is basically gone. Keep those PMs coming for Marleau/Clowe.

confirm this deal.

Murray and his physical presence is a nice addition to our squad. He'll be asked to play a defensive role on our second pair, allowing young (and small) Jarred Spurgeon more creativity offensively. Nice and easy deal with the San Jose Sharks.

Pretty happy with my team as it is, so I don't plan on making much more moves until the deadline. Watch out for Minnesota for a long playoff run!

I already talked to the Isles GM. Visnovsky is an NHLer for this game.

ROSTERS/CAP INFORMATION

The following teams have no roster/cap information in the roster thread:

BOSTON
TAMPA BAY
CHICAGO
DETROIT
CALGARY

I know Chicago/Tampa/Calgary are active, but has anyone been on contact with Boston (King Canuck) or Detroit (Datsyuk Dangles)? Neither of them posted in this thread and I'm not going let them sit around when I have a bunch of guys who want to fill in for inactive teams.

I say replace them now if you can, I haven't heard from either GM, maybe others have, but if you have replacements on hands then there is still enough time for them to have at least some chance to be active before the deadline.

Tyler Toffoli

Phil Kessel
Kevin Porter
Sam Carrick

Will provide analysis later. Good deal, Toronto!

Not sure how I feel about Kessel in LA. To me his style of play just screams Eastern conference.

The Avalanche have signed veteran sniper Milan Hejduk to a one year deal worth 1.75/year with a NMC.

A King's Random; Leafs deal Kessel to Kings, Acquire Carter

First a starting goaltender, now a 1st line centre. My my, the Maple Leafs are figuring things out.

The Maple Leafs pulled off a blockbuster move today, as General Manager TribalPhoenix announced the club had dealt scoring winger Phil Kessel, along with prospect Sam Carrick and journeyman defenceman Kevin Porter, to the Los Angeles Kings. In return, the Leafs finally acquire the legitimate 1st line centre that the club has lacked since Mats Sundin, as Jeff Carter is Toronto-bound, along with blue-chip offensive prospect Tyler Toffoli and veteran stay-at-home defenceman Rob Scuderi.

“This was a major shake-up, but one we had to make. It’s not every day you get to add two Stanley Cup rings to your roster.” TribalPhoenix stated in a press conference at Real Sports Bar and Grill this afternoon.

“Phil is an elite talent, and a top tier scoring winger in the NHL who is still signed for another season and has many years of his prime left. While we are appreciative of what he has achieved in Toronto, we recognize he will likely want to assess his options after next season when he becomes an unrestricted free agent. Simply put, his chances of re-signing in LA are much more likely than re-signing in Toronto. In Jeff Carter, we get a 1st line centre with size, elite scoring ability, and whom is under contract for a good amount of time. We see Jeff lining up with James Van Riemsdyk on his left side, while Joffrey Lupul goes back to his more natural right wing position. In Tyler Toffoli, we have a prospect who we were very high on in his draft year, and we see as being a top six forward for us in the not-too-distant future who will instantly infuse offence on the Marlies. Rob Scuderi brings veteran presence and defensive acumen to this club which has a great number of offensive defencemen, but could use his gritty, workman-like effort.”

“We’re extremely happy with this, and think we’ve turned a corner.”

Avalanche are looking to move defensemen:

Greg Zanon
Matt Hunwick

For relatively cheap.

We're also looking to move prospects Duncan Siemens and Stefan Elliott for a more established LHD or RW

Have received some offers for Alexander Edler but nothing we're willing to pull the trigger on. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Luongo/Schneider still available but more likely to hang onto both for the balance of the season.

Brian Elliot
Matt D'Agostini

Ryan Clowe

We wish Ryan the best of luck in St. Louis. We felt it would be beneficial to bring in another starting goaltender to the organization. Elliot is coming off a fantastic year in St. Louis and we look to platoon him with one of Niemi or Greiss. We will explore trade options for one of the two. Matt D'Agostini is one of those players who has shown, when placed in an offensive role, he can produce. Long has he not had a place in a teams Top 6, and we plan on lining him up with Logan Couture in hopes he replicates his offensive output he showed in 10-11.
