UPDATE: Coyotes Looking For 2nd Line Center. Rumored To Be Toronto's Matt Lombardi

UPDATE:
@cmorgancbsfoxaz: #Coyotes GM Don Maloney said he had hoped to have a trade done for a forward today but the trade partner wasn't ready to say yes.

@cmorgancbsfoxaz: Maloney said top priority is to find a C. No. 2, scoring.

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/coyo...ns-return.html

Maloney fielding and making calls for offensive help. Our beat writer says that Yandle could be in play, but only for top offense. Other than Yandle, our offensive help will most likely come via our plethora on defense, and defensive prospects.

We will most likely not trade any of our offensive players unless it's in a package...and according to out beat writer, our untouchables on defense are Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Zybnek Michalek. Morris, Klesla, Schlemko, Rundblad, and our two non likely trade candidates barring a deal not to be refused, Gormley and Yandle, are open for discussion.

Isles need a quality PMD with Visnovsky peacing out.

What about a package of Brock Nelson and Michael Grabner for Yandle and a mid-rounder? Both guys are young(21 and 25 respectively) and both could probably step into top-6 roles this year(Brock is slightly under a PPG at the AHL this year, his rookie season, and Grabs is coming off a sophomore slump where he still managed 20 goals; most Isles fans expect him to bounce back this year).

Close?

That is an odd list. I don't believe Yandle/Gormley should be available before anybody but Ekman-Larsson unless a big name is coming back.

I predict Phoenix makes a smaller trade and acquires a tweener type like a Connolly, Lombardi, Ryder for picks or a young center with some term that hasn't hit his full potential like a Gagner or Brassard.

This is going to be an interesting next 6 months for player movement.

Yeah they better be looking for offense, Whitney had an amazing season last year and there's little chance Sullivan will get anywhere close to those numbers. Unlikely to see Vrbata put it up 35 goals again as well.

Phoenix is one of those teams where you can just never figure out how they do it, but the offense was already a little slim last year, hard to see them doing it again unless they can add another scorer to that forward group.

Kadri would look good in Phx.

I don't really want to get rid of him. But he is definitely the type of player that would thrive in a lower pressure market.

Clark MacArthur for a conditional 1st round pick in 2013. If the pick is any higher than 20th overall, it changes to a 2nd and a 5th.

Take out the 2nd coming back to the Sens and it's not bad value wise IMO. That said, what the heck do we do without Michalek? Not score much is my guess.

I think taking out Gormley is more appropriate, keep the second in there.

Brock Nelson + for Brandon Gormley.

Both are close to NHL ready and have high upsides. Isles have a glut of center prospects while the Yotes have a a glut of defensemen prospects. Obviously Gormley is more decorated and well known but I feel they have similar upsides with Gormley getting the edge, which is why I suggested the plus.

Nelson is a big bodied center capable of playing center or wing. He plays in all three zones and is an excellent skater and has a heavy wrist shot.

Phoenix fans will probably shoot this down quickly but it I see a math even if it's not Gormley.

I can see that....just like Kyle Turris excelled in a low pressure market

Two sets of brothers reunited adds the extra 2nd.

Seems to be the in thing these days.

Krejci for Yandle is the potential blockbuster.

I am guessing if PHO traded Yandle, they would want a player who can score now, not 2-3 years from now
