Oilers would love Klesla. What would it take?

Wouldn't that be counter productive for Vancouver? I know Yandle is worth more than Edler but they are fairly close to the same player, then you're adding a 2nd and Booth. The only thing I can see you doing here is shedding salary that Phoenix wouldn't want to take on, and I'm not trying to insinuate that Booth and a 2nd is useless either, just that I don't for see Phoenix or Vancouver making this trade.

Gormley for Read + 2 2nds?

edit : Why doesn't Phoenix offer a contract to Petr Sykora? Sounds like the devils arent going to re-sign him

Maybe I'm being too idealistic, but I really think Toronto-Phoenix would be a good match. Toronto has a lot of depth forwards, a lot of which on fair contracts that expire at the end of the year. I could definitely picture one of Connolly/Lombardi/Bozak/MacArthur being traded for a draft pick.

Edler is a UFA at the end of the season and Yandle is locked up for a while. The idea would be Booth + 2nd and 1 year of Edler as a replacement, giving you time to work out a contract.

I'd like the Oilers to get involved, but think the prices will be too high.

I'd take a run at Gormley for a lesser price than Yandle, but not sure we have assets we are willing to give up.

Wow. Huge Trade and very even. I think i do this if im Ottawa simply because the emergence of Turris as a 2nd line c is enough to move Zibanejad. Losing michalek hurts but a top 4 of cowan Karlsson
and yandle Gormley is sick.

I don't think it would be good for either the Senators or the Coyotes, unless they make an additional trade to fix the holes in their system.

Who will make up for Michalek's scoring and Zibby's potential? Suddenly the Senators are hurting for offense both in the ice and in the pipeline. Yandle-Karlsson would help for sure, but then they need players who can actually put the puck in the net aside from Spezza.

Coyotes wind up giving up not only their #1 D-man but the other guy who has a good chance of being a top-pairing D-man himself. And they still won't have a #1 center, with only Zibby's potential being there. They would end up as a team with great depth again, but ultimately no one who can carry the team through the tough times.

Sens take that and run...But I'm not as high on Zibanejad as I am Gormley...Or Michalek for that matter. Yandle is worth way more than just Michalek and Stone.

Philly gets Keith Yandle, Michael Stone

Phoenix receives: Matt Read, Jacob Voracek, Scott Laughton and 1st round pick in 2013

Philly receive a quality puck moving defensemen in Yandle and a good young defensive prospect in Michael Stone who's ready to step up right now.

Phoenix receives: Two young offensive forwards that could help them a lot with their top 6. A legitimate prospect in Scott Laughton and a 1st round pick in 2013 in a deep draft.

What are your thoughts guys? Is it too much to pay for Phoenix or Philly? Remember that a player like Yandle will cost much so Philly will have to give. Philly gets a very good defensemen in Yandle and a great prospect in Stone. Two spots filled for their D and ready to go for the season!

Iginla at the deadline.
The article says the 'Yotes are fielding offers. And of course it would be for forwards. The defense is set. I don't see why they would take away from the set defense when it worked so well last season. More likely a bottom 6 type d-man or prospect for a 3rd-line RWer.

Something around Hemsky and Whitney for Yandle? Phoenix gets offense, and still gets a good replacement defenseman back to fill in Yandle's spot for a year, or longer if they extend him. Oilers get the better player, but if Phoenix re-signs Whitney, they get more depth who is still top end talent.

The opportunity to move Yandle would only come if Phoenix felt they had the internal capacity (Gormely, Rundblad, Stone) to replace those minutes. Stone is NHL ready (unlikely to be included), Rundblad is close, and Gormely should spend the full year in the AHL. I don't believe there would be much interest in Whitney. Hemsky might be of interest but Phoenix would demand more long term assets with high end potential up front.

It's a hard trade scenario but I think an overpayment of Hemsky, Gagner, and MPS is what I would likely need to consider before I would pull the trigger on a player like Yandle. Not sure what else up front Phoenix would include to make cash and total number of contracts work. Of course this assumes that those three names would work in a Dave Tippett system which I'm not sold on.
