I don't know why u guys are fretting, you know a 2nd line center is coming with the luongo deal.
Because we need kesler beast mode in playoffs if we ever want to win a cup. If he doesn't get up to form, sedins will have to beast like they never have before. I saw glimpses in it from Henrik sedin in the playoffs last season. It looked like the first time i've ever seen him play with an extra level of intensity. If he can play with that fire along side his bro this playoffs then we could be okay. Just hope no one takes a run at the sedins. if they do, our team needs to stand up for them.
Remember when ben eager ran sedin into the boards in the playoffs? No response from the Canucks. Could have been a career-ending injury from a hit like that. That needs to change. Don't even get me started on duncan keith. Can't wait to see when we play the hawks this season.
That line would be awful. They would get demolished out there, are you kidding me?
What and Booth-Ebbett-Raymond would be any better? At least Schroeder and Kassian have chemistry and are offensively gifted, unlike Raymond and Ebbett. Also having 2 physical bodies on either of Schroeder's wings wouldn't be a bad thing. And although it wouldn't be the best defensive line, it would be better then most of our options without Kesler at this point, while keeping a good 1st, 3rd and 4rth line.
Love the people saying "training camp hasn't even started yet" - have you guys not been here for the past 5 years?
AV loves his scrubs and doesn't trust young players. Bottom line.
This will be AV's 7th season as head coach and nearly the entire core of this current team is proof that one of AV's strength is developing young players.
AV has always given ice time to those who've earned it. This includes a young Kesler, Edler, Hansen, Burrows, Raymond, Tanev, Hodgson, Schneider, etc. The Sedins went from low level, fringe firsts liners to back to back Art Ross winners; they were 25 when AV started and he was the one who immediately made them the top line when he arrived. I honestly don't understand this reputation that some fans give him as an anti youth coach. What players have deserved more ice time that AV has given the shaft to? Is that list as long as the one I just provided?
If you want to watch ill prepared young players being shoe horned into roles above their heads, then the Oilers are the team for you. The Canucks are competing for a Cup, not running a farm team.
AV's not perfect by any means, but this is the one area that I feel he is beyond reproach.
