YOUR Teams opening lines

I thought one thread would be nice, so that we don't have to go to each board chasing down these answers.

As best as you can gauge. What will the opening night lines of your team be?

Thanks!

As an Islander fan I have no idea.

Moulson-Tavares-Boyes
Bailey-Nielsen-Okposo
Grabner-Cizikas-Ullstrom
Martin-Reasoner-Joensuu
Boulton

Or

Moulson-Tavares-Boyes
Grabner-Strome-Okposo
Bailey-Nielsen-Ullstrom
Martin-Reasoner-Cizikas
Joensuu/Boulton

Or

Moulson-Tavares-Boyes
Bailey-Nielsen-Okposo
Grabner-Nelson-Niedereitter
Martin-Reasoner-Cizikas
Joensuu/Boulton

Really don't know what's going to happen up front.

But on D it's simple:

Visnovsky-Hamonic
Streit-MacDonald
Donovan/Ness-Carkner
Martinek (unsigned but practicing with team and will likely be signed for depth)

And then Nabokov-DP-Poulin.

From Babcock himself:

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Brunner
Franzen-Filppula-Samuelsson
Cleary-Helm-Bertuzzi
Miller-Abdelkader-Tootoo
Mursak/Emmerton

Kronwall-Ericsson
Quincey-Smith
Kindl/Colaiacovo-White

Howard
Gustavsson

Helm has not skated the past couple of days due to an unnamed injury, which we should know more about on Monday. If it keeps him out, that changes everything.

Colaiacovo was banged up, but appears to be ready sooner than originally anticipated.

Nyquist is NHL ready, but Detroit has too many forwards which seems to have him chained to the AHL to start the season.

Mcdonald-Steen-Tarasenko
Sobotka-Nichol-Reaves/Langenbrunner

I realize that depth will be important in a shortened season. But I feel bad for a guy like D'agostini who looks like he'll go from being on the 1st or 2nd line to be scratched.

I guess if there are injuries, not to him, that he should get his fair share of ice time. But not a lot of room on the Blues as their depth has improved immensely over the last few years.

I thought Butler was going to play with Bouw, although I like your pairings better.

Then on special teams Bouw more on the PK and Wideman more on the PP. That said maybe Hartley will bring more offense out of Bouws game.

Also, I'm not sure whose going to be taking faceoffs on the top line. Iginla? All 3 of them in a rotation? I like the first line, but it is a mess interms of faceoffs.

I wounder what switching Baerstchi and Glenx would look like. Would Backlund play better with two more straight ahead guys in Stemp and Glennx, or does someone with the talent and puck distribution abilities of Sven really help Backlund.

For the Winnipeg Jets' take out Cormier on the 4th line LW. He was injured most of the AHL season so far so he didn't get called up to training camp. His spot will be taken either by Miettinen or Machacek.

Again, this is not really set in stone. There's still a reasonably good chance that Schwartz starts the season in the AHL, and D'Ags plays that spot. There are definitely going to be injuries, so he will certainly get quite a bit of playing time(provided he's not one of the injured players obviously). This is just going by the lines they were using in the informal skate this afternoon. Many have speculated that he might be dealt to a team that needs forward help in order to improve our defensive depth. I don't really know. I think a lot of it has to do with how Schwartz plays during camp. I'd rather have Schwartz in the AHL, and have him ready to be called up on the first injury, than have D'Ags sit in the press box for an extended period of time. He's a legitimate NHL player, he definitely deserves to play. Either in St. Louis, or somewhere else.

It's a shame we had to overpay for Leino, he really doesn't have a spot in this line up, honestly I'd rather have Hecht and Ott with Grigorenko than Leino. He doesn't fit on the 4th line either, and he's not going to surplant our top 6.

Post your teams expected lineup here

If everyone posts their teams expected lineup, I can compile it into one post and put it in a format that makes it easy for everyone to read.

I for one am very curious about what everyones lineup will look like and to be honest, since the offseason was so long ago, have forgotten where a lot of players have gone.

Great idea on the thread, but your Kings lineup is a little off.

Brown(C) - Kopitar(A) - Williams
Penner - Richards - Carter
King - Stoll - Lewis
Gagne - Fraser - Nolan
Richardson/Clifford

Scuderi - Doughty
Mitchell - Voynov
Martinez - Greene(A)
Drewiske

Quick
Bernier

Kopitar and Mitchell might miss the start of the season. I don't want to speculate what the lineup will look like though if that happens. And I don't know how the left wing situation will play out, I expect Gagne to eventually move up from the 4th line where he was used in SCF after he came back from injury.

From David Pollak our beat writer. Sharks lineup for start of season,

Marleau-Thornton-Pavelski
Clowe-Couture-Havlat
Galiardi-Handzus-Wingels
Sheppard-Desjardins-Burish

Boyle-Vlasic
Stuart-Burns
Murray-Irwin or Tennyson

The defense pairings, of course, presume that Jason Demers and Justin Braun won’t be ready for what is expected to be the Jan. 20 opener.

Vanek-Hodgson-Pommer
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford
Leino-Grigorenko-Ott
Pardy-Hecht-Kaleta

Ellis (If McCormick is healthy then Ellis gets sent down through waivers)
McCormick (Possibly IR)
Gerbe (IR) Troup (IR)

Ehrhoff-Sulzer
Sekera-Regher
Leopold-Myers

Brennan/Weber

Miller
Enroth

Buffalo will likely try and move a defenseman. Likely player would be Leopold that could bring back the most. Brennan is a similar D-man to him Others wont bring as much or will be complicated.

If D-man is traded then they keep an extra D and 2 extra forwards so Ellis stays on the team.

Grossmann-Coburn
Timonen(A)-Schenn

Will likely be what lines look like Saturday. Briere has a hair line fracture in his wrist is likely to just miss this weekends games. When he comes back lines will likely be shuffled again and we will find out whether Laughton is staying up or going back to Oshawa.

May have spoken too soon. Looks like Leino and Grigs had instant chemistry in camp. In a short season, having that line click right away could make a big difference.
