He saw a concussion specialist, he visited him as precaution.
Yes I read the article. I would like to know what the doctor did exactly. If he just gave him a neurological exam and they talked about his symptoms, I hardly think that settles the issue.
Just watched the highlights of game 2 against the Habs on YouTube. Man I forgot how bad Mike Green was......he was horrific, also noticed how solid Poti was, including the fight against Gomez.
Really hope Poti can stay healthy and find his game.

I just did too, what a great game to watch but damn our D sucked.

dont hold your breath on poti. i dont think he is healthy. i think he is healthy enough to try. mcphee says he thinks its a longshot. i would not expect to see him play even a game.
Hopefully,.....his being injury prone, a sub par defensive D and disappearing offensive stats sure aren't going to help in trading him
Well everyones been down offensive stats wise the past couple of years comparing to the BB prime years. Inury prone? Yeah he deserves that label somewhat. Think going back to the zone D coverage (versus Hunter's man on man) that Alzner mentioned will help all the D.
Green is exactly who I said he is. A guy with way over inflated numbers from BB pound hockey system. A guy we should have sold high on four years ago. He is a finesse player that game drops way off as soon as he gets banged up. And the league know this. That is why they pound him. He is a guy we will never be able to count on to stay on the ice when we need him. A guy we held onto to the point his value is so low we have to sign him if there is any chance he can be the player of old.
when you look at green's playoff numbers in comparison to the team as a whole, he had a pretty impressive post season. tied for 2nd in +/-. tied for 4th in shots. considering that the caps system and game plan barely used any of green's elite skill set, thats pretty impressive.

Don't get me wrong. I will be the first to say there have been few Caps players that could totally control a game like Mike Green could. For me the first sign was how much his game dropped off when he was banged up. The little things took him from the best player on the ice to just another guy. And it seem to happen way to often.
And my fear all along was that we were going to pay him a huge contract to be the Caps #1 dman. And he would only be that player part time. And rarely late in the season when we would need him most.
And he never even made it to that point. GMGM held on to another big shiny apple until it was just another rotten apple.

You're right about the offensive stats, but I think Green looked slightly better with the man to man.....he's especially lost when playing zone D,......looks like his head is always on a swivel and the opposing team is always behind him.
I'm sure his offensive stats will get a shot in the arm, but defensively, he's beyond atrocious!

He probably won't, which is a shame, cos the Caps could use him

I'm not a Green fan by any means but he player solid defense in the playoffs last year.
I thought Green had a solid playoffs. He seemed to be improved on defense,he used to be Wideman bad. The scoring chances were there too. One ranger game comes to mind where he had a few shots and Hank made a crazy save when Green was picking a corner.
Regardless, we can use him on the powerplay. We all know he can snipe.
If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, would a hipster buy the soundtrack? Sometimes it seems that some posters would rather the team lose and they be proven right than win and have to admit they were wrong. This isn't a Caps board or a Hockey board. It's a deadly game of one-upsmanship.
In short, good luck having an opinion that differs from those who spend all day and night immersed in Hockey. Heaven forbid you are a casual fan with an opinion. I love hockey but have never played it. I've been watching (and been a Caps fan) for twenty years, but I often feel as though many posters think I'm not qualified to have an opinion.
I'm fine with people disagreeing with me and, when it comes to hockey, I often look for the opinions of those who know more than I. But the way people tell you you are wrong around here is often, at best, childish. It's a shame, because this could be, bar none, the best place to have a discussion about hockey on the internet.
Flame on.
OT: I'm very excited to see what Wilson can do. I have no idea if he is ready or not but I'm eager to see him in a Caps uniform. I get the impression he is a Lucic type player in that he is a big body who likes contact and can score a few goals when needed. Is it a fair expectation that he could develop into a 20 goal scoring second line winger with a mean streak? Or do people feel he is more a grinder and checker?
Hey,
I enjoyed your post, and found your metaphors to be quite witty.
As to your main point, yes, there are some here who are in a p!ssing contest. But lately, I've enjoyed many of their posts. Who knows... maybe it's all the narcotics I've been forced to take lately... whatever... I'm still enjoying their posts more.
Give em another chance, and please, post more. I'm thinking I may have missed the bus on you, too.
