has anyone heard how maidens is doing? is he feeling better? should we expect to see him in an attack uniform this year? i have not heard anything in a while now about his progress. and what about arthur gervurs do we expect him this year as well? those two kids would give us a huge boost offensively. would be like making huge trade to add secondary scoring without giving up anything

Maiden was hopeful for January, but he's still experiencing headaches, they doubt he will be back this year, but it's not an impossibility. Arthur Gaverus is still in Russia and it's look pretty dim that he will be coming over.
article says by the end of this month, and it's the Devil's wish that he does so... COOL!!! does this mean he playing in either the next 2 games? I hope so!!!
Then if Maiden can get better by the playoffs, who knows? they might give London a harder time to see who comes out of the conference.
Middleton doing awesome so far at the U17... he going to be another really good D in the future
watch out for a guy like Steve Janes. He is a big body that can put up numbers, also played with cat . he would compliment that top line nicely and ottawa is a seller and Degray can possibly get good deal. Gavrus? if rumours are true and he comes back, the attacks problems may be solved upfront as far as solid top 2 lines, and secondary scoring. It would be beneficial for the pwerplay. Frank Corrado or even a sproul would be a great pick up on D they need a solid number 1 that can log big minutes. My guess Attack will make a splash this deadline.
This is a fantastic trade. To acquire Ceci without losing any picks. Value for both sides. Acquiring Gavrus on the same day as well, Owen Sound has given themselves a very good chance at the OHL title. Unfortunate losing Middleton, as he has potential. He will gets lots of minutes in Ottawa.
Looks like DeGray got what he wanted. Ceci to QB the pp and Janes to thicken a thin forward corps. Middleton has a ton of upside and Blandisi is nursing a bum hip, the 3rd rounder is gravy.
Me thinks DD has another move up his sleeve that includes Gavrus.
so is the new flavor of the Attack good enough to go all the way? penny for your thoughts...
Theyve added quality to their already solid club thru Garvus, Ceci and Janes (and maybe one more move)
Looks like the path should have them at home vs the Rangers and then a date with London if they both make it conf finals. Going to be a tough haul for any of the top 3, but I like Londons draw come PO time.
OS just has to get the Knights outta their heads and they got a great shot, but so does Ktown

like crottenham said, they now picked up Daniel Milne, he might even dress for tonight's game, he's got good number playing university, I wonder what he'll be like in the OHL
I dont think Milne will be a huge difference maker. Can't see it changing much. It's one F, and not a top end one. depth move that helps but won't sway the balance.
I really think its Lon/ OS/ Ktown/ Ply in that order but close enough that ANY1 can get thru in a heads up.

After all the moves by OS, KIT and PLY, the Knights are still the Knights the team to beat.
For me the only question mark is the Knights goaltending as Binnington and Gibson are both capable of stealing a series.
Ceci wont play saturday (tomorrow) because he's going to the Senator training camp. I wonder what are is chances of staying there? I hope the best for Ceci, but I hope OS didn't screw that up.
I think trading Middleton was a mistake, just watch him next year. Not somebody you want to fight either unless you know what your doing.

I think it is doubtful that Ceci sticks with the Sens obviously he is a great player I just do not think he is quite there yet. Teams never know for sure though because no one thought Ryan O'Reilly was going to stick with the Avs when he was 18. If he does stick then man the Attack messed that one up. Im pretty sure they spoke with the Sens about his chances of staying in the NHL before the trade though.

Ottawa is really short of defensemen with two injuries (one for the season, one for three weeks) (and a rumored trade of Gonchar to Pitt) and have been actively exploring the trade market.
To me though they have 3 serviceable AHL d men who at this point are probably Ceci's caliber or close, and I'd hardly expect Ottawa to keep Ceci as for development he is far better off playing 25 minutes good OHL minutes a night rather than stay in Ottawa as a 3rd pairing d man.
Brian Murray (Ottawa GM) said as much on the radio. Sounds like he will not even be given a chance to make the team.
He may stick for up to 5 games, and that may be a possibility as they wait for another D man to come off injury or make a trade, but even that seems doubtful.
OHLFan8771 is probably right, the OS management staff probably had insight on Ceci's immediate future. Ceci can always play good enough to change minds though. Especially never being away from home in all of his hockey career and wanting to stay home might motivate him more.
