Invites: Gallagher, Commodore, Dumont, and Tinordi.

No Leblanc is surprising but understandable considering the season he's had so far in Hamilton.

French media firestorm for Commodore instead of FSD has already begun I am sure.

Might be a waivers situation above all.

Not mad at all.

From my understanding of the situation is that he'd have to go through waivers to play on the team this year. That would be ridiculously stupid to lose him for nothing, especially when we already have 8 NHL defenseman on the roster.

He'll be on the team next year.

My understanding is that if he gets called up and doesn't make the team, THEN he needs to go through waivers to be sent back to Hamilton.

Glad to see Gallagher, Tinordi and Dumont invited. All 3 certainly deserve it.

As for Commodore, well, I can't see him earning a contract. He'll be there as an extra body for scrimmages I suppose.

Possibly, although wouldn't they have to call him up now since he's already on an AHL roster? So hard with the lockout to know the exact rules.

He's an NHL defenseman though. So if we dont give him a spot next year, he'll find one elsewhere (unfortunately because he's got Top-4 potential in my eyes).

I know you're a big fan and all, but I really doubt it. Best to keep him down in hamilton where he can help the kids develop.

Happy to see Beaulieu and Leblanc not invited. They aren't deserved. Tinordi shouldn't be invited.

IMO, the only 3 players deserve to be invited: Dumont, Gallagher and St-Denis.

If he's not on the team next year, he'll be on another NHL club. He's way too good for the AHL. He's a UFA after this year.

And I'm only a big fan because of how he plays. He's reliable defensively, smart with the puck, and plays a sound game. He's not flashy, but he doesn't make mistakes. He's a solid skater and while he's not strong physically, he's strong on the puck.

There's a reason he was a + player (one of only 3 defenseman on our team) on the roster last year. And same with the AHL, how he's one of only a handful of players on the Bulldogs to hold a positive +/- rating despite logging the most minutes.

Top 4 potential.......don't see it...........at all.

It is very unlikely that he is on the team next year if everyone is healthy. St.Denis is just a depth defenceman who's absolute upside is a bottom pairing guy. More realistically, he is a journeyman/stopgap who will bounce between the minors and the NHL.

I guess we just see things differently. I don't see that, at all. He does everything above average, as far as I'm concerned.

Of course, I've been wrong before though, so it wouldn't surprise me if I'm wrong about him (Weber, Aubin). However, it wouldn't surprise me if I'm right either (Maxwell, Desharnais, White).

I'll stick to my gut feeling either way.

Anyway, does Galchenyuk get his 9-games?

There is a reason he is 27 and has only played 17 games as an injury replacement on the 28th place team. The +/- reference was silly as he played bottom pairing minutes against the opponents 4th line....not to mention the tiny sample size. Staubitz and Bourque were both +2......did you think they played well?
