Campbell got on the ice, but he's back over the boards.
Nilstorp back to the net.

Zucker has some Steve Ott tendencies. He was constantly participating in shenanigans after the whistle in the most recent game before this.
Not a big fan of this guy.

I saw him in the NCAA once, I wasn't all that impressed, but he did like going to the net a lot and he did score a goal or two.

Oleksiak threads the needle on a pass from blue line to blue line to Roussel. Scores on the breakaway.
Roussel was double covered ... great pass.

After watching the replay ... Oleksiak was actually just inside the blue line in Texas zone, and he hits Roussel at center ice who wasn't double covered. He did split the D though on a semi-breakaway so he had three guys right on his heels.

It's amazing how even with those studs the team was 4th place in our division. Like they had our number for sure, but against the rest of the field they were a mediocre .500 hockey club.
It's going to be rough for them post NHL ringers. The Texas Stars on the other hand I expect to transition quite smoothly
unless those 6-8 players GMJoe expects to use this year all get called up at once.

Well that was pretty much as one sided a game as you'll find in the AHL - or most other pro leagues. Shots 39 to 12? keep it up baby Stars

Eakin is getting lazy only scoring ENGs now that Joe already promised him a spot.

Can someone tell me how Nihlstorp has played thus far in the AHL? Does he have a shot at the NHL? Wondering because I'm a huge fan of Färjestad BK where he played the last couple of years

Rough start, but that could be attributed to his transition to North America.
Since then, he's clearly been one of the top goalies in the AHL. He has a very real shot of earning the backup role in Dallas, and I believe he'll ultimately win the job.

Eakin and the rest of the potential AHL call ups are likely playing tonight.
It's a 30 minute flight or 3 hour drive to Dallas.

Yay for having our farm team finally in our own state and not 10+ hours away.
