Capital sign Eric Fehr 1 year, 600k.

The Washington Capitals are set to sign free agent right wing Eric Fehr to a one-year, $600,000 deal, pending his passing a physical, a team source said Saturday. The move will become official when the NHL opens for business.

Whyno is a legit source.

Came here to post this, not surprising at all. Apparently the Jets weren't interested. I would've loved to have him back, but I guess we have too many options at RW as it is.

Not good enough for a top 6 role and useless in a bottom 6 role. Even at 600k I don't think I like it.

So has the MOU been signed and announced?

I didn't think these signings were legal until everything was signed, sealed and delivered.

It's not official-official, yet, but it's pretty much official.

It's his shoulders. He was largely ineffective for the Jets last year. Seemed a step behind and just couldn't keep up. After about 30GP he seemed to start to get his feel back, then he was re-injured and didn't play again.

He had 25 pts (13+12) in 21 games during the lockout in the Finnish elite league. I'd say it's a good signing!

Good deal. On the third line with Chimera and Laich he'll do well, if he stays healthy. And at a fraction of what the Caps are paying Ward who will likely be bought out in the offseason.

Also, Caps lack forwards in the pipeline/Hershey that can play in Playoff games and depth is what wins championships. Fehr can play big games and come up big. $600k is a great deal. The only question is his health.

Good signing by the Caps. He'll provide some much-needed depth. I hope this puts to sleep the rumours of Sykora signing there and he'll stay with the Devils.

Never liked him on the Jets but you could tell that he was not 100% when he was here.

Not a bad pick up.

He didn't really get a chance with the Jets because he was returning from a serious injury and never found his stride on a new team.

Plus I'm sure he felt the pressure to perform on his hometown team during their inaugural season.

Always liked Fehr. He played well on big stages. Playoffs, Winter Classic. No risk here. Solid add.
