Richard Lintner

Yesterday the defender Richard Lintner signed for the swedish club Skellefteć AIK. What can you tell me about him and his time in the Rangers?
Strengths/Weaknesses?

I thought he was moved to Offense by the Pens when we traded him. He was more of a offensive minded D man, thats pretty much all I remember about him... he loved to pinch and was a bit of a D liability.

I met him before a game once. He was a nice guy. Ranks up there with meeting Busta Rhymes for me. Not the best defenseman though.

Yes we did. Lintner has some great skill, great skill. Well at least he did four or five years ago, I don't know if he's regressed since then. We moved him to center, I believe, for about a dozen games and he actually looked pretty good, so much so the Pens qualified him next season and wanted to bring him back as a forward. Lintner said he would play defense or not at all, so he left for Europe.

Which is a shame because, I think he could have made it over here as a forward. It amazes me he wouldn't want to be given free reign in the aspect he's best at which is his offense, and want to play a position he has no aptitude in whatsoever, which is his defense. So in summary, jeshua, you're getting a purely offensive defenseman, a good skater, good passer, but very poor defensively and not the slightest bit physical.

Had potential, that's all I remember.

At this point you gotta ask yourself, what can you salvage?
