I would assume that's just Smith's personal opinions, as it was with Branecky in the past.
That's what I figured. Bowman sitting on the second line just looks so weird though. I know what Muller said about Jokinen on the 3rd line, but he just seems like a waste there. Please JR, make something else happen for 3C.

I hope so.
Here I expected that, even with McKenzie's tweet about GMs not doing anything tonight, there would be at least something going on. Instead we get insight on various teams from McKenzie and that's about it.
I don't get why it has to be Dalpe vs. Boychuk. I understand they're competing for similar icetime/roles, but it's pretty likely that we're going to see a slew of guys up and down until somebody steps up and really claims it. I think the fact that they didn't strip Charlotte entirely by calling up EVERY player that merited it was a good call. It's not like they haven't seen enough of Dalpe, it's just that Boychuk has been superior this season in the AHL. I would like to think that Boychuk will bring the heat all year, but knowing our organization at the first sign of trouble we'll see the deck chairs shuffled. I do feel like Dalpe has lost his focus at the AHL level the way Boychuk had in seasons prior. He's not playing with nearly enough passion.... save when the lockout was close to being over and he really stepped it up. Funny how that works.
I wonder if players called up for camp will have to clear waivers when going back down to the AHL? It would be interesting to see. I think that Boychuk is waiver eligible this year. If he makes the squad and doesn't stick, I wonder if another team would bite. Same with Dalpe, Sangs, and the rest of the crew.
Murphy being in the hunt does make things interesting. Too many offensive types already with Faulk, Pitts, mcbain, Corvo and sangs all fighting for time. Makes you wonder if we aren't selling off a d for real in the next week. Personally I think Murphy won't be staying, they're just rewarding him with camp before sending him to junior. Sangs will be the extra guy, and maybe we pick up Bryan Allen's replacement along the way. For the record, Colin white is out there. Basically the same guy as Allen.
We are woefully soft as a baby's bottom back there.
I've always agreed dalpe and boychuk should be here together instead of one or the other. Boychuk deserves the reward, I'm just curious where he'll actually play. We still have nodl, stew, Brent and Dwyer in the way. Wallace and whoever we pick up in the next few days will be likely for te fourth line as well. Some guys have to move out for the checkers to get truly good shots.
Just hasn't been updated yet. Faulk, Boychuk, Sanguinetti, Wallace, Welsh, and the other players that were assigned to Charlotte aren't listed either. Skinner was assigned there, just never played there.
Three scoring lines and the toughest fourth line in the league. Paired with nothing but "offensive defensemen", average four goals and two fighting majors a game for the season. That'll bring fans back

I'm told the #Flyers have reacquired goalie Brian Boucher from Carolina for Luke Pither. More on this in a bit. #NHL #CrazyDayAlready
Saw that in Chip's tweet. Not sure why Alt needed to be included in the deal. Seems a bit strange to me. Why include any prospect in a deal for a backup goalie?
Anyone know anything about this Pither dude? According to wikipedia he's 6' 194 lbs, but his stats aren't really anything to write home about- 30 pts in 106 career AHL games.

He had a modest OHL career up through his draft year then blew up a bit. Year after his draft year he had 72 points in 64, 19 in 17 in the playoffs. Then followed that up with a solid overage year where he scored 94 in 67, and 20 in 17 in the playoffs.
Trying to figure out who his linemates were in Belleville and Barrie to figure this one out.
edit: looks like he was THE guy in Barrie. In Belleville it looks like he rode shotgun to Tangradi with PK putting up some monster numbers on D. He hasn't done jack in the AHL though and he's been modestly productive with Wheeling. Like not even Justin Shugg production despite being two years older.
