Apparently Luongo isn't at the team practice today. So is he an Oiler yet?

Id like to see us grab someone like Vandermeer or Chris Campoli. I dont see us making a huge splash and moving out any of our young talent or even someone like Hemsky for that matter to grab a Subban or Del Zotto or Bogosian. Tambo has stuck with his plan for the past three years, I dont see him moving off his stance now.

He would improve our team, of that IMO there is little doubt.

Would Tallinder+ or Volchenkov+ be acceptable for Hemsky? Hemsky's value is most likely pretty low right now so idk what's fair really.

Saying Tambo has a plan is giving him far too much credit, IMO.

Depends on the + I guess.
Tallinder is getting up there in age and I think the Oilers wouldnt be looking to trade for anyone who wasnt in their prime or entering it. And Volchenkov seems to be overpaid for the role he plays, granted he would be a huge boost to the Oilers PK but it seems like he played a depth role for at ES.

If we could drop Horocffs Contract I would be fine taking Luongo. People forget how good he is, besides, we could but him out with the amnesty clause.

It all depends on what we would have to give up. I mean of we give up nothing I would grab him. Isn't the amnesty clause a 2 year window? Thus if he looks brutal after 2 years we could just buy him out?

What would you guys give up for Bishop to add some depth in goal. A 2nd? A lesser pick and Prospect?

Nothing.

We already have an average to below average back-up goalie.

I don't think that the Oilers would have any interest in this deal.

Volchenkov, who was once one of my favourite defenseman, is a shadow of his former self. He would be fine short term, but his contract is not very attractive and the Oilers would not deal Hemsky for him. Simialrly, I doubt that they would trade Hemsky now for a 34 year old defenseman. So I don't see Tallinder as the key piece for Hemsky.

For all of his health issues, the fact that the Oilers gave Hemsky $5M for two years means that both sides want to give him a chance to prove that he is back to near where he was. He played better at the end of last year, and stayed healthy. Based on how he played in Europe I am pretty sure the Oilers would like to see how Hemsky does in a new role. He likely is being pencilled in to run the #2 pp with Yakupov being the trigger guy.

No, Greatmaker, no! Please, no Luongo. I can't stand this guy and his antics. Leave him in Vancouver or trade him to Calgary.

Antics? Luongo is one of the most level headed goalies out there. Antics is what Tim Thomas is doing right now, only finding out about the lockout when someone came and knocked on the door of his 2012 bunker and told him it was safe to come out. Luongo makes us a playoff team, not a fringe team like we are looking to be now. With him between the pipes, the worst we'd probably finish is 6th.

What Antics?

He has a great personality. He's gold on twitter TBH.

I don't know why people think he's a POS.
