Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but I think the announcement from the NHLPA that the vote passed means this thing is almost done.
Early this morning ... when for some dumb reason I thought I'd hear this mess was over ... the NHLPA said they were respecting the wishes of the NHL and not announcing the result of the vote just yet.
What's taking so damn long? Is it really too hard to vote yes online?
It's not the vote. The MOU is holding everything up. This document will serve as the rules of the land until the exact wording of the CBA is hammered out. They said they've already invested over 100 hours into the thing.

Cliff notes version of the CBA, but more detail than the agreement they made a week ago at 5 AM in the morning.
Sides are playing nice right now, but they don't trust one another. The PA is especially on edge after they claim the NHL tried to remove penalties to teams for incorrectly reporting HRR. The PA claims the clause was deleted, and the league made no mention of removing it.
I don't know how close you followed the lockout meetings, and I'm trying to do this from memory .....
The PA discovered the problem on Wednesday night. It was a huge blow up, and the sides didn't meet at all on Thursday. It honestly looked like this could destroy all the positive movement the sides had made.
Fortunately, a mediator met with both sides on Friday even though they never met face to face. The mediator (hero to all hockey fans ... ) got them in a room Saturday and got a deal signed.
So here's who I'm under the impression will be in camp:
Dillon
Eakin
Scievor
Oleksiak
R.Smith
Nihlstorp?
Ritchie?
Chiasson?
Who am I missing?
Lites, Gulutzan, and Joe Nieuwendyk have all commented on it, and the consensus seemed to be Eakin, Benn, Oleksiak, Dillon, and Nemeth are locks.
Multiple sources confirmed junior players Ritchie and Faksa are at camp, but probably not with a very real chance of earning a job.
Fraser, Smith, Chiassion, and Sceviour are likely in the mix.
That said, the entire AHL team will hopefully scrimmage the Dallas roster on Monday and Tuesday ... assuming the league allows it. Dallas seemed to be the first to mention this tactic, but several other NHL teams are now looking for league approval as well.

It would be quite sick if they held this on the big rink in Frisco at night. I'd freaking be there.
