If we ever get "business as usual" green light and CBA approval, look for Flyers to sign a FA defenseman, perhaps even tonight.

Foster won't get a huge amount of time on the ice here. He's basically being brought in since Meszaros and Gustafsson are going to be injured for the start of the season

i guess they think he's better then one of Lilja or Gervais. or they might bring him in on a try-out

not a big deal either way. once Mez is ready and Gus gets back none of them will be playing.

Foster only has one decent skill - big shot from the point on a pp. The problem is that he is completely incapable of stopping a puck on the blue line. 9 out of 10 times, a pass to him by a teamate is a cleared zone, the other tiime it is a big shot. A blind dead guy would stop more pucks that Foster.

due to injuries, the Oilers had the worst defence in the nhl a few years ago and we were all glad that he was the first one shipped out. Good guy, terrible defenceman.

It's obviously going to be Subban, signed to a 6 billion dollar offer sheet...

Habs would match. It would have to be 7 billion for the habs to walk away.

The Flyers D is the skating dead right now. If one of Coburn or Timonen went down it'd be disastrous. I think they'll need to acquire a top 4 d via trade because there are none on the free agent market

You drive a hard bargain, Montreal.

I'll see your 7 billion, and raise you a bent paper clip, a bit of string, and half of a snickers.

Foster was horrible in Minnesota. He spent a lot of well deserved time in the press box. We got fleeced. Zidlicky for this guy+almost nothing was horrible. I'm sure the Flyers could trade a 3rd for someone better than Foster.

He was also horrible in Anaheim, and horrible in Edmonton. Foster is not an NHL caliber defenseman anymore, unfortunately.

His first game with the wild was great! He seemed to improve steadily then his horrific injury probably stopped what could have been a decent/wanted NHL defenseman.

the key components were 1. getting rid of Zidlicky who would only waive to go to NJ 2. Palmieri, 3. the pick (a 3rd i think).

Foster is a great guy. Not a terribly good hockey player. Did Barker catch on with the Canucks? Maybe you can target him, too. if you put them in that machine they had in "The Fly" maybe you'd get a real defenseman!

lol Kurtis Foster. I honestly think Flyers have a bottom 5 defense. Coburn is awesome, but it gets really bad after that.

Timonen is good, but not what he once was. Schenn is a question mark, but was unimpressive in Toronto for the past couple of years.
