I enjoy it a lot, but struggle to find time. I always find the time or will make time for the 8 weeks of the Grand Slams. Also try and catch a lot of the Masters Series events and the year end championship. Usually just read the results for the 500 and 250 events. It helps there are so many streams available.

I love football so much though. I'm a real sports man which is a problem sometimes. I always watch the football if it's on and the F1 if that's on. Ice Hockey is normally late at night so I'll probably have to try and fit in somehow. What time do the games start in the Australian Open (Australian Time)

The matches will start around this time of night/day and run for twelve hours or so.

So it's possible to catch games in the morning for a couple of hours. Up to around 11 in the morning. Which isn't too bad.

They aren't half dragging this draw out though.

Yeah, it's good timing for watching the night matches but poor for watching the day matches if you're in Europe.

Team Spain coming to Vancouver for #DavisCup: Nicolas Almagro, Marcel Granollers, Marc Lopez and Albert Ramos.

We will be announcing the members of Team Canada for Vancouver later this morning. #DavisCup #CdnTennis
If I was to wager a guess, I would go with Raonic, Dancevic, Polansky and Nestor. Pospisil still hasn't played since he contracted that virus.

If Canada was ever going to have a chance of beating Spain, this is it. No Nadal or Ferrer.

Starts next Friday (Dec 1) in Vancouver.

Edit: Well I guess Vasek is ready to go:

Almagro isn't playing due to injury. Not sure who is replacing him.

I was wondering if he was well enough to play after getting injured in the Ferrer match. Either that or the thought of going all the way up to Vancouver and then to wherever the next tourney is wasn't something he was interested in doing. Raonic has been tweeting from Whistler the last couple of days so he will be used to the change in time zones by the time the weekend is here.

Might try and watch some of the Davis Cup this year. Like the idea of it.

French Open should be easier to watch as well what with it only being an hour ahead.

Davis Cup can be a lot of fun to watch. I haven't paid attention to it in a long, long time. not until the last couple of years. Now that Canada is developing the potential to put together a decent team, having a rooting interest is more fun, at least in the opening rounds. And the French Open will hook you further. Year after year it seems to consistently provide some great matches and, for my money, it is the toughest GS to win.

Unless Ferrer or Nadal magically appear in Vancouver then we might actually be the favorites with Almagro out aswell. Take whatever advantage we can get.

No Almagro either? Interesting. It could be a pretty even tie now.

This is bad for Spain. Not only have their top 4 singles players withdrawn, they refuse to invite their 5th best.

Dancevic scares me. Milos has to come up big.

Scares me, too. Would have gone with Pospisil, who rose to the occasion against Israel in 2011.

I'm fine with the selections. Pospisil hasn't played a competitive match in a while after being out, but he is at least playing doubles. Dancevic played a challenger last week so he is at least match fit.

Raonic wins both his matches and they pull out the doubles. No need to worry about Dancevic then.

Interesting. Neither side putting out their ideal squad. The Spanish just might still win this on the strength of their doubles team and having two singles players better on paper than Dancevic. Of course, Ramos isn't competent at all on hard courts. It will likely come down to the fifth rubber.

I'm most looking forward to Germany-Argentina and Serbia-Belgium mostly for the players involved. Djokovic has called the court "quite dangerous" and he disappointed the last time he played Davis Cup right after winning a slam (in quite different circumstances after the 2011 US Open) - which might give some hope to the otherwise over-matched Belgian team. I'm just hoping the tie is still alive for the fourth rubber.

It was a poor first day from my perspective.

Goffin served for the match against Troicki and somehow managed to choke it away. Horrific to watch actually. Considering that Belgium's hopes likely rested on winning the rubbers in which Djokovic wasn't taking part, that probably just about sealed it. I guess Goffin didn't earn too many fans from the way he responded to Djokovic's complaints, suggesting the Serbian team was scared of them.

Kohlschreiber lost a long grind of a match against Berlocq, ending with a retirement late in the fifth set. Argentina are up 2-0.

Looking forward to Wawrinka-Berdych on Sunday. That tie is 1-1 after the first day.

Nice win in 4 by Milos. After losing the breaker he came back really strong and he was really pumped after winning and got the crowd going.

What 'ya know? Frank consolidates a break in the first set, 4-1...Frank playing like a demon gets a second break, 5-1....and Frank serves the first set out with genuine authority. So far this is almost too much to hope for.

And, wow, playing like a beast, Frank gets the early break in the second set, 1-0
