So upsetting. We were so close, it's not even funny. I love the people that say the Kings kicked the Devils ass, so clueless. I've heard so many people say that, and I always have to bring up the two OT games, that play by Fayne, and there was something like that in Game 2 too.

Kovy hitting the cross bar with just about a minute or so remaining. Hurt so bad.

AW **** now I fully remember both chances in the first two games. I still think if the series went 7 back to the Rock the Devils would take it and the Stanley Cup. Damn bounces.

You know, I've stopped myself from watching any SCF highlights, except for Henrique's goal in game 4. I'm too afraid to go back aha.

I might watch highlights of 1 and 2, but definitely not 3 or 6....

To be fair the Kings pretty much dominated Games 1, 3 and 6. The only games we really outplayed them were 2 and 4, and 4 was pretty even. Game 5 we got outplayed but willed out a win.

Game 6 the stupid ref got in the way and took down one of our guys which led to a goal, then it snowballed from there

I felt the same way. I know we never get to go back and change it, but had Bernier not hit Scuderi there, I always wonder what would've happened. I was fully, fully confident that the Devils could pull it off.

Yeah wasn't it with only seconds left? Imagine if that goes in. I think Kopitar made a phenomenal backcheck play on that one though.

3 and 6 were bad, but 1 and 2 we were right there with them. Weren't by any means our best games but the Kings were so crisp and solid with their breakouts. I remember going to the games watching them break out of the zone so systematically with ease and it really concerned me. I sat up top in the 200s so you can see the whole ice and you can see how perfectly they were defeating the forecheck.

Game 5 was just on a replay tonight, I watched 3rd period. We did not get outplayed in that period for sure, but it's funny because I have the same impression in my memory. Maybe it's just because it felt like a heart attack every chance LA got, I don't know.

I was surprised how solid they looked, making good plays.

Cam's now infamous interview told it best when he said that the Rangers series was basically our Stanley Cup, for better or worse. The team was pretty beat up and spent after going through our two biggest rivals by that point.

I've caught clips of those. I don't know why, but at least for me, Zajac's OT goal for me in game six was better than Henrique's goal. I don't know why, but I think at the time of Zajac's goal I was a lot less confident and the relief plus the excitement was better than Henriques. For Henrique's goal against the Rangers, I was in the "okay, if we don't win then we still have a chance mindset," so I wasn't in for an immediate let down.

I don't believe that. The Devils really managed to distance themselves from getting too emotionally involved in the rivalry like they've done in prior years. For the Flyers, it worked beautifully because that's how they managed to take the Penguins down and that's how they liked to play. Physically, I guess you can make that argument but psychologically and mentally, I don't think we were beat up.

We were on our heels Ranger style for good chunks of the night. Particuarly the start of the third period when we were outshot like 6 or 7-0, then settled down a little bit but their defenseman Martinez still hit the post twice late.

I think it's actually the opposite.
They drew back from physically amplifying the rivalry... but you could tell they mentally devoted to taking down the Flyers and the Rangers.

In all of the interviews, just the way they kept saying "we knew we HAD to beat them"
as if they had to do it for the fans and they HAD to do it to put down all the "Flyers/Rangers in 5" predictions.

The emotions and the mental dedication were all in overdrive, while trying to restrain themselves and stay disciplined (I don't know if it was a tactic to rope their opponents in or if they were just pants ******** afraid of what the PK would look like after the 1st round)

I don't buy that at all - not when you're in the Finals, the Kings rolled through everyone worse than they did us, and the team had five days to re-focus. If anything the extended breaks for both teams made Game 1 terrible all around, though the Kings got their sharpness back before we did.

They were beat up though, that much is true. Kovy and Fayne were at least. LA got a lot of rest before every series and were about as healthy as any team that ever won four rounds.

Hmmm...I think you are thinking of game 4 in L.A. There I remember late posts, didn't see any late in game 5.

I don't watch any highlights from the Cup finals. None.

I remember Henrique's goal well enough. I really get sick pulling anything from those 6 games up on youtube.
