BTW, my real prediction beside the AHL deal a couple pages back, is Carolina acquiring Kevin Westgarth from LA for a draft pick. Carolina needs some toughness, LA needs to dump some forwards, and Westgarth worked out in Carolina during the lock-out (I believe he is from the area, but it still makes sense to me).
That is entirely possible. Kings are planning on having 5 lines worth of forwards in camp.
Westgarth-Richardson-plus whomever they call up.
With Clifford and Nolan around, and Sutter not playing one, we don't really need a heavy anymore.
Not sure about value, but one of those Sutter's the Canes have for Westy? Maybe include Loktionov and make it a bigger deal?
Somebody will go after Paul Ranger in a big way. Not sure about his exact status with the Leafs.
Rumor has it Ranger might rather just play out the year in the AHL. he wants to be sure he is ready for the jump back in. I think he stays with the Leafs when and if he decides to play NHL hockey again.
Horrible, no thanks...
You want Staal, get ready to overpay. Give us Skinner. You want our captain? get ready to overpay, way more needed for that. And we have no need for Skinner. SKinner is great but we are stacked in our top 6. And taking away a player like Staal from our top 4 when we are contending makes no sense at all.
