Pens will have a much harder time matching up against us when we have 2 legitimate scoring lines this season. They don't have the luxury of matching up Orpik against our main offensive threat anymore because we can skate Gabby & Nash on separate lines....
Plus with McDonagh's emergence and a healthy Marc Staal, that gives us 3 defensemen who are probably among the best in the league at going up against other team's top forwards....
I feel more confident going up against the Pens this season than I ever have in the past.
I just hope that the Rangers figure out that MAF is NOT an elite goalie. You don't need a perfect play against him. Just throw everything and the kitchen sink at the net.
It's my expectation some GMs are sitting on trades/signing that are done or close to done and as soon as gun goes off, there'll be activity

if I were the isles I would not want him, I mean, he apparently has no respect for the islanders and does not want to be apart of them. Its unfortunate for the isles, kind of wish vishnoski would have been more professional about it, but it is what it is.

I wouldn't want Burke as OUR GM but I like and respect him. Straight shooter. Arrogant? Maybe. Overrated? Probably. But honest, sticks to his guns, does it his way. I respect that.
You guys all know Kovalchuk NEVER said he was going to, or even wanted to, STAY in the KHL, right? He said he wanted to stay for the ASG because it's unfair to all the fans to just have these stars they've been watching all season disappear right before the event. He will be in camp Monday. The whole issue was a non-story that got blown massively out of proportion. Hate Kovy and the Devils all you want for real reasons, but Kovy is a serious, committed NHL player and questioning that is just stupid, IMO.
