True. Don't think that matters much considering all the games will be in the same time zone right?

Other than Winnipeg, they're all EST. Fortunately we only have one trip there. That's part of our longest road trip (Winnipeg-Buffalo-Toronto). We have another three-gamer to Ottawa and the state of Florida, but that's about it.

Shame cause I love the 10 pm starts. Great to be able to do whatever I need to do and then relax with a nice game to end the night.

I heard $99. At least for Center Ice. Not sure if they're the same price.

7 PM ET starts are going to blow for me. I get out at 5 PM MT. Eventually the games will be starting 4 PM PT when we're on it here in AZ. This won't be fun.

That depends on how late you can sleep/early you have to get up. I generally peace out of the WC games...especially during an 82-game season.

Even the Winnipeg game this year is 8 which is fine with me. Don't like going to 7:30 weekday games too much but I'll deal with it for the opener and Fan Appreciation Day.

$99 is WAY to much. Its like $139 for the whole season.

That's just what I've heard. I'm hoping for much more generous pricing but in the end it's not going to matter, I'm going to order it no matter what.

Same, but that is just a major snub to the fans the NHL claims to love.

On a different note, I am pumped. Devils come to Boston 2 times, which means I get to see them play live this year!

Bahh don't come to Florida until late March, and only once. Lame!

Anyway just to make things exciting I have been thinking. Wouldn't be surprised if a forward is dealt too in a trade with a D man too. The forward I'm thinking could possibly be Zubrus as he's a UFA, and doesn't have a no trade clause. He also would have some value aside from guys like Zajac, and Clarkson who I'd say Lou hopes to keep. If Zubrus were dealt along with a defenseman, I wouldn't expect to just be getting some Joe Schmo either.

There are a lot of reasons why I could see Zubrus not going like being a mentor to Matteau when he makes it up, and being a perfect player in Deboer's system. However there's no denying that if Lou finds a good forward option for trade, and the other team wants a forward back, Zubrus would be a candidate. Just a thought I'm putting on the table.

I still cannot understand this view. Fayne is quality, any way you slice it. I pity the folks who don't understand that.

I think Fayne got a bit over hyped and the vitriol is in response to that.

He is what he is. A solid d man. Not great, but not bad. Just solid.

Do you guys think Gionta can maintain his production or we merely captured lightning in a bottle during the playoffs?

It better be a damn good forward to justify giving up Zubrus; that's all I'll say.

And regarding that Kovalchuk buyout tweet, I'd really like to think that he would prefer to stay here. He seemed way too into it last postseason for him to turn around and dick over the organization.

This guy won't give up. The only way I could see this happening is if he offered something insane like $300 million which would probably pay off all the Devils outstanding debts.

I think his production over the course of a full season would fade significantly from his PPG during the playoffs. With his frame and the way he plays, I could see him burning out. The shortened season might help him, but I don't think he'll be nearly as big a contributor as he was during the playoffs.

Put it this way; of the players on that 4th line, Gio would be the one I'd let go first if I had to pick, and I wouldn't think twice about it.

They could compensate us financially for sure, but they wouldn't exactly be able to give us anything to help on the ice, or help all the dead cap space we'll have. Not to mention get us back the penalties we'd have gotten for signing Kovy for 'three' years as it turned out.

This is why I thought Kovy's responses went beyond posturing, he obviously didn't give them a flat no.

Devils scheduled to be on NBC twice, NBCSN seven times in 2012-13

Quote:
*The two games on NBC – against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden on April 21 and April 27 (last game of the season) – are part of the network’s flex program and could be changed at a later date.

Medvedev can only get Kovalchuk if he buys the team. With no Parise, Kovalchuk is worth more than ever to the club.

I`m hearing Darche was invited to our camp. Vintage Lou if true.

Not sure if legit though.
