Kings trade Westgarth to Carolina for Anthony Stewart, 2013 4th and 2014 6th.
WTF? Canes didn`t got even robbed on that one. They got *****
I don't know. Two years ago, I would have agreed. One year ago, I might have agreed with it being a regular robbing. But now? Stewart has been really terrible. Still not a bad trade for Los Angeles that could turn out to be just what you're saying, but right now, it's a "compliment" to Stewart's past two years that this isn't too bad.
Any chance teams have a mutual agreement of not picking up the other team wavers at this point? Otherwise can`t see Bob pulling this.
well he would've had to be put on waivers if he were to be called up during the season too right? so might as well lose him now then if you were to really need him in the season later. obvs i hope he clears waivers
Yes it is, and that probably means very little. Under normal circumstances, all these players would've easily been able to attend camp, but because of the lockout, they had to go to the AHL and thus have to go through waivers to be recalled. If someone poaches a guy under these circumstances, I imagine there'd be hell to pay. Waivers to send them down afterward, that might be another story.
Plus, as others have alluded to, teams seem to want to keep camp numbers down and evaluate their own guys, can't see too many being interested in adding a body to a shortened camp.
I also noticed that Bruce said there'd be 26 skaters, but by my count there's only 25 listed. Perhaps Smaby is #26 and they just forgot about him, or perhaps we're bringing another forward in and it isn't quite done yet. Or perhaps Bruce just meant to say 25 or changed his mind.

I don't think he was counting goalies, and you're forgetting PL3. Or perhaps he was counting goalies and brought in 3 more than he expected. I dunno, but if Smaby's going through waivers, I could see him being brought up.
I think they'd be better off bringing in another forward, though. 6 even lines and 4 defensive pairs, that'd probably work best.
