Horrible deal. Why's the point of signing him when we have Connauton?

See ya later Keith Ballard?

Barker is essentially the exact same player, but about 4 mill cheaper.

Barker will give fans fits every night.

Not good enough to be an everday player but how many times do you get to slot a stalwart into the #8-9 hole...

Never liked him much. But he's cheap enough to bury, so low risk, and worth taking a shot.

Bad move - I wouldn't have given him even a PTO contract. Hope I'm proven wrong.

I thought you can't shove guys in the minors to remove the cap hit anymore?

Because Connauton isn't very good. Besides, if Connauton outplays Barker you just send Barker down to the AHL. The Wolves defense isn't that strong from what I've seen, and it'll be losing it's #1 in Tanev.

Likelyhood we see him is very low. He's where Sulzer was in the line-up last year.

Unless AV has some weird obsession to fill with Rome gone.

I liked Sulzer. Still can't believe we traded him for MAG. Great asset management MG.

Didn't Barker get cut from an AHL team this season? Did he show some glimpse of something that caught MG's eye? i've barely seen him play, but pretty much EVERYONE seems to be against him.

Who cares? He's depth, he'll be in Chicago unless he impresses...just a pet project.

Here's where you ask yourself: As a team in the Northwest Division that saw Cam Barker play for the Oilers last season, how on this green earth does Vancouver pick him up?!

I'd think Corrado is ahead of Connauton right now; I'd I really wonder if Barker is better than Corrado even at this early point in this career.

No, I don't even want him near Chicago. I don't want him near the Canucks.

Maybe we want better odds at a #1 pick overall.
