It's definitely not great.

I think Kaberle-Gorges has some bizarre potential as a pairing though, especially if Kaberle rebounds.

I meant in the sense that perhaps a few posters attended the on ice sessions and would come back with reports. Just practice, I know. But I'm craving some on ice Habs reports.

You didn't understand my post.

Maybe he was comparing them again and saying that Galchenyuk wasn't as dominant as Grigorenko because he didn't get as much PP time as Grigs got with Russia.

He's been doing it for like two weeks. Everytime he talks about Galchenyuk's WJC he compares it to Grigorenko's.

Not bad. Diaz wilo be a key part of the PP if Subban doesn't show up in a near future.

Habs Practice

Drove by the Habs practice facility an hour ago. The parking lot was jammed and people lined up to get in. The hockey fever is back. I don't expect much from the Habs this year unless Price can score 30 goals and stop every shot. Seriously! Habs have not improved their offensive skills, but should be a more grinding team.

Galchenyuk might just give us a shot in the arm offensively, as will the return of Gionta and Markov... We just might not be that bad.

I think they are slighty better offensively...

Don't tell me that Pleks, Gionta and Bourque can be worse. + Gomez is finally gone.

-The resurgence of Bourque and Kaberle.
-Plekanec having a better season
-The progression of Emelin and Diaz
-Our bottom 9 actually having an identity.
-Price having a better season.

We can be a playoff team, but there's just a lot of question marks.

I hope they test out Desharnais/Pacioretty/Cole with some other wingers/centers too...pretty unwise to close out the potential to see how they'd succeed with other players. What if Pacioretty and Desharnais can make our other forwards play better while maintaining their own success?

That's why I want Bourque to play with both of them starting the season.

Not at all, Bobby Mac said it has great potential and I would tend to agree with him.

Markov - Emelin
Subban - Bouillon/Diaz
Kaberle - Gorges

The only way you can assume this is a bad D corps is if you assume Markov will give us ZERO quality hockey and Subban won't sign. It's at the least average...

Yep. If bourque can't produce with maxpac and DD with soft minutes, yeesh.

For me, it's just way too soft. I understand the occasionnal big Emelin or Subban hits. Or the solid Bouillon. But geez, we are missing some nastiness along the boards and in front of the net.

Where does Cole would play ? He cannot play on LW and Gionta is pretty much assured to be the second line RW.

I could really see Gionta being used along side Eller and Moen for a real shutdown line with some offensive punch. That would depend on someone like Gally impressing enough at camp to be put along side Pleks + Cole.

Then again. I have a feeling Therrien will put Armstrong with Pleks. Just a gut feeling.

Nothing new here. It's like that since ages. The closest we've been from that is when we ha d still Gill, Hamrlik and O'Byrne in the line up. We now have to wait for Tinordi and Pateryn to develop.

I think you may be right about that. Therrien's image of Armstrong may still be Pittsburgh era Armstrong.
