Haven't heard of any players being claimed. This stinks of colusion!
From what people have said in previous threads and postings it sounds like this is more of an effort to get people to the AHL teams for the duration of the lockout. And if it is collusion I don't think it's the type that people are going to do a whole lot of yelling about. In case you haven't noticed both the league and players have bigger things to worry about.

Guys on ELC's can't be claimed but there are some pretty good players that have been waived that under normal circumstances, I think, would be claimed. So why is it that no team has claimed anyone? They don't have to pay them until the season starts and then they only have to keep them for 30 days. I understand a team wanting to get their own players down and get them playing but if you have a chance to cherry pick another teams good player why wouldn't you? Because owners agreed not to? Colusion!

Based on that logic, not sending an offer sheet for Subban or whomever is collusion.
It's more of an unwritten law, you claim their player when you're not supposed to and they'll claim yours.
Dammit people know what collusion is and are gonna apply that to everything now because it's their new word. It's like when anyone signs a long term deal now and people cry cap circumvention all over again.

An offer sheet is totally differant. Only the cream of the crop get offer sheets. Offer sheets are big dollars. Picking up a guy off of waivers is like picking a gem out of a bucket of glass. We don't see too many offer sheets but we have seen a few. Zero guys plucked off of this special waiver wire? Smells fishy to me!
CONFIRMED: #LAKings prospects Andrew Campbell, Marc Andre Cliche, Rich Clune + Thomas Hickey will be hitting NHL waiver wire. #hockeyisback

The above Kings players were not mentioned, so they might be hitting the waiver wire tomorrow.
So can players that are waived, go join European teams or do they go to AHL/ECHL teams?
These guys are mostly already in AHL/ECHL and it's just a formality. There will be more. (Aside from Berger who went home and is having the termination of his deal formalized).

I think they would have to be officially loaned to go to Europe.

Can Berger actually be claimed? He has a contract here in Bern until the end of next season.
