I strongly disagree. 19 goals playing mostly 1st line minutes and PP all year?? Zucker scores 19 goals. Ill take that one to the grave.

Im not saying we should get rid of Seto for Zucker I was simply implying Setoguchi is way overrated and is VERY replaceable. We can pick up any middling UFA "scorer" for 1M any given year and give him that ice and he'll score 19.

Setoguchi was bad last year. People are just too afraid to say it.

I would really like James Wisniewski on our team to pair with Suter.
But trading for him may cause us some cap problems and I dont know if Columbus would be willing to trade him. We would have to give up some of our forward prospects for him tho.

You don't think he scores 19 goals in all that ice time and PP time? You can't tell me he won't.

I said 19 goals..not 20-30.

James Wisniewski is way too much overpaid to be with the Wild.

Also, he isn't that good either.

yeah, Seto doesn't really have a good reputation in the "Character" department. re-roll that stat, Seto.

I like Zucker. Even more after watching him with Houston. That doesn't mean it's sane to say he'd have outscored Seto on last year's team.

anyone think maybe Dumba being up is an insurance policy of some sort...depending on what goes down with trades. It's a possibility.

Can't wait until that MOU is signed. Really looking forward to seeing what trades go down around the league. I'm kinda expecting the Wild to actually make a move, whether it's to improve the team very slightly or just to free up a contract or two, but I doubt it's a significant move. Maybe just trading one of our AHL d-men for a pick or something like that since we have so many d-men down there.

Don't understand this. We are short on Dman.

If we are trading a complete waste of space and contract spot, it better damn well be veilleux.

Put me in the NHL and I will go 100 percent. That is not a reason to give me an NHL contract.

I think trading for a D-man this year will come at a PRICE. We all know the Flyers badly need / want a defencemen and they will drive the market up this deadline... with the shortened season, there will only be 2-4 teams out of a playoff race by the deadline so you talking about a very small window of trading partners.... my guess, the Wild do not and can't trade for any help on the blue line, so lets just sit back, calm down and see what happens. We badly new to be healthy on D this season

Veilleux is a very solid energy line winger in the NHL and has proven over and over again he can be an important cog to any team. Prosser hasn't shown he can play in the NHL. Try again.

No, seriously, Veilleux is great. If we make the playoffs (and we should), I want to see Veilleux there. Seriously. I love the guy, I love what he brings to the ice. 100% effort. AND he is not a liability at hockey, either. Granted, he's not a scorer, nor elite defensively, nor elite speedster, but he doesn't lack in any department, either.

He reminds me of Nate Prosser (when Nate is on his game), or should I say the other way around. The kind of guys that fire up the team, who agitate and never give up.

Too bad we don't have any contracts open because waivers are starting to open up and Hickey is on it. Might not have been a bad pickup.

I don't know how highly the Ducks' management think of Sami Vatanen but if they would trade him with fair price, I'd try to make the deal. He was a special player in SM-liiga and has been good in the AHL. He's an offensive minded defenseman. Not the biggest (5'10'') guy out there but he manages his own end alright too.

Norfolk Admirals

Sami Vatanen D GP32 G4 A17 PTS21 +/- -3 PIM30

He's too injury prone though. Yes, his offensive instincts are special but... I don't know. I don't think we'd need another injury-prone D prospect. And the price would undoubtedly be high, something like Phillips + 2nd.

Apparently Ducks didn't invite him to training camp so I don't think they'd ask too high of a price of him.

We didn't invite Zucker to the training camp, doesn't mean we wouldn't ask for the moon for him.

Speaking of trade ideas, I can't wait for something like "Barker wants to return to Minnesota?" to pop up.

Followed by:

"Barker for Scandella+?"
