From what people have said in previous threads and postings it sounds like this is more of an effort to get people to the AHL teams for the duration of the lockout. And if it is collusion I don't think it's the type that people are going to do a whole lot of yelling about. In case you haven't noticed both the league and players have bigger things to worry about.

Guys on ELC's can't be claimed but there are some pretty good players that have been waived that under normal circumstances, I think, would be claimed. So why is it that no team has claimed anyone? They don't have to pay them until the season starts and then they only have to keep them for 30 days. I understand a team wanting to get their own players down and get them playing but if you have a chance to cherry pick another teams good player why wouldn't you? Because owners agreed not to? Colusion!

Based on that logic, not sending an offer sheet for Subban or whomever is collusion.

It's more of an unwritten law, you claim their player when you're not supposed to and they'll claim yours.

Dammit people know what collusion is and are gonna apply that to everything now because it's their new word. It's like when anyone signs a long term deal now and people cry cap circumvention all over again.

An offer sheet is totally differant. Only the cream of the crop get offer sheets. Offer sheets are big dollars. Picking up a guy off of waivers is like picking a gem out of a bucket of glass. We don't see too many offer sheets but we have seen a few. Zero guys plucked off of this special waiver wire? Smells fishy to me!

A bunch more per McKenzie

ANA: Jordan Hendry, Patrick Maroon, Nate Guenin, Matt Smaby
BUF: Joe Finley, David Leggio, Drew Schiestel
CBJ: Cody Bass, Andrew Joudrey, Ryan Russell, Nick Drazenovic
MTL: Cedrick Desjadins, Alain Berger (Mutual Termination buy-out waivers)
NAS: Mike Moore
PIT: Steve McIntyre, Brad Thiessen
WPG: Ben Maxwell

The above Kings players were not mentioned, so they might be hitting the waiver wire tomorrow.

So can players that are waived, go join European teams or do they go to AHL/ECHL teams?

These guys are mostly already in AHL/ECHL and it's just a formality. There will be more. (Aside from Berger who went home and is having the termination of his deal formalized).

I think they would have to be officially loaned to go to Europe.

I would imagine the Oilers take a long look at Hickey assuming he becomes available.

Can Berger actually be claimed? He has a contract here in Bern until the end of next season.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Isles taking a flier on Hickey. High pick, still young, improveable

He is not having a good season in the A. I don't see him getting claimed.

Never has a player on the $125 waivers been claimed. Even if he was to be claimed, he would probably remain in Switzerland.

It's highly unlikely that he will be claimed. But if he was claimed would henot be allowed to sign a NHL contract ?

He can. He'd be an RFA if they tender him.

However, he's terrible at everything... Except for his shot.

To add on Desjardins...

The team in front of him is terrible. Little veteran leadership. A whole bunch of players in their first year including 5 of the 7 d on the team.
