Completely hypothetical, I think everyone believes O'Reilly will eventually re-sign but lets just say the Avs and him can't agree to terms. O'Reilly is definitely a great fit for the leafs and the Avs would now need to move him. What would the Avs want in return for him?
I'm thinking something like:
The Leafs have Rielly coming up and already have Liles there as a puck moving defenceman so they could afford to move Gardiner if the deal was right. A young two-way centerman like O'Reilly is that right price imo.
Leafs fans...do you guys honestly still expect Avs fans to say yes to this stuff still? I've seem Gardiner for O'Reilly in 2-3 threads in the past week. The answer has always been the same. That also goes for Duchene and Stastny. These threads are so predictable:
Leafs fan asks price on Avs center. Makes proposal for said Avs center.
Avs fans say no. Say we are happy keeping all our centers. Say it would take more than OP to get them.
Leafs fans start bashing said center(overpaid, washed up, horrible last year, Gardiner had more points! Unproven! Do not want! Avs fans are ridiculous!) and it goes on and on and on...
Can't you guys come up with an original proposal? You know, something has not been gone over many many times already? Or even better, don't make proposals for any of our centers at all?
Maybe you guys should avoid these threads instead of complaining about them.
At this point, then proper place for these threads should be on the Leafs board. It has been going on for a long time now, and there is absolutely nothing from anyone credible to warrant this many threads. At least with Luongo let's say, we know he will be traded at some point.
holy bejeebus I didn't expect an all out argument that has nothing to do with the proposal. I thought a young stud C for a young stud D was a good starting point in a situation where he needed to be moved.
