Rockefeller Center, but they're extremely close. Only about 10 blocks away.

Extremely close as in they're both close to Penn, or close as in they're almost the same distance?

MSG is about 15 blocks from Rockefeller Center. Rockefeller Center is about 10 blocks from Central Park.

Sorry for the confusion.

Penn Station is on 34th St and 8th Ave; Rockefeller is on 50th between 5th and 6th ave; Central Park starts on 59th St between Columbus Circle and 5th Ave, north side of the park ends on 110th St.

Hi everybody, my first post here and its all questions. Im traveling to NY in a couple of weeks and Ive already bought tickets to the NYI-NYR game on thursday 7th feb.

Its going to be my first time at MSG so Im pretty excited. Im traveling with a friend and weve got tickets in section 226.

I was wondering how soon before the game should we come to MSG?
And are there any cool (sports)bars near MSG where to hang out after the game?
and if there are nice hangouts, are they team jersey friendly, or is that a no-go in local bars?

Also are the fan apparel shops open at MSG after the game?

Any other tips for a MSG first timer are very much appreciated.

Cant wait.

Location is good but the room my friend stayed at was extremely small.

Restaurant I can take my 18 y/o niece to where we can watch the game

Hi all.

I'm taking my 18 y/o niece to the Museum of Natural History today and afterwards I want to take her to dinner somewhere we can watch the game - she's underage, so a place like The Flying Puck is out of the question. is Stout my best option?

any bar/restaurant around MSG will probably have the game on. you still can take her to flying puck, they do have tables and allow underaged people in

clyde fraziers might have some nhl on, but I'm not sure - call ahead. Great sports watching restaurant, plenty of parking around on west side

Thanks for the responses guys! I just assumed since the Flying Puck didn't have a separate dining room that you would have to be 21 to get in. I'll give Clyde Fraziers a call as well. Much appreciated!

Can try Blondies at 79th and Broadway. It's very close to the Museum of Natural History if you don't want to get back on the subway.

Another good idea. I'll peek in there and see if they're going to have the game on. Thanks, MetalGodAOD!

Welcome to NYC, it is indeed legit. They handle the NHL's official ticket exchange. NYR vs Toronto is an original 6 game and they're always a bit more exciting and meaningful. Though Toronto may be the smallest draw to MSG from the other O6 teams.

I've yet to be inside MSG after phase 2 of the renovation so I couldn't say for sure. But from what everyone has been saying the 400s are a great view and good value for money.
