my god... I like Benn but he's the most overated player of the history of HFboards. He's nowhere close to RNH.

Is this some kind of joke? Benn is good but the overrating is getting way out of hand. I think that even reasonable Dallas fans would admit that RNH has more value.

If you get to use Young Iggy then I get to use Future RNH and then we're back to RNH>>Iginla

I fully believe RNH will be in the conversation of the top 5 forwards in the NHL going forward.

I've said it before and I stand by it. RNH will be in the same catagory as Stamkos, Tavares, Malkin and Giroux. The group after Crosby.

I like Jamie Benn, I've liked him since junior, he is a star, and will be a many time All-star. RNH is going to be one of the elite players in the league for a very long time.

Its not even a good comparison. Iginla in his prime was one of the best power forwards ever and that is coming from an Oil fan. Of course RNH is > than Iginla now.

But saying that Benn=Iginla in his prime is ridiculous. I really like Benn but that is like me saying that RNH=Sakic(Which is a closer comparison anyways).

I think I am neutral, but RNH for Benn isn't even close.

Someone with some rational thought.

There's not much point in discussing either player's value, as neither will be moved barring overpayment. This is what it'd take for us to consider moving Benn - we have no need for Yakupov or Hall or Eberle.

This is one of those deals neither side does though.

Oh, and Benn and RNH are actually quite close in value. "RNH >>> Benn" is laughable and proves you have no idea what you're talking about.

RNH is already better, and 5 years younger and just had his Rookie year at 18.

Lol, no.

This.

People don't realize RNH is practically at Benn's level despite being drafted 4 years later.

Nope. The Oilers would be stupid to trade RNH for Benn. Skill level is nowhere close - size is much easier to find than that kind of skill.

Any team that has no need for a Hall or Eberle has got to be a mix of the cup winning Oilers,Islanders,Habs. The stars have nothing of the sort.Wow, have you ever watched hockey.

RNH for Dallas. Literally the entire Dallas Stars organization becomes Edmonton's new farm club.

Sabres fan. Agreeing with the "Benn overrating is getting absurd" take. RNH>>>Benn.

Comparing RNH and Iginla is a bad comparison. They are fundamentally different. One was a one-dimensional scorer, and the other is a Gretzky Protege.

dont know if you're serious or not but...

I'd be very happy if Nuge turns out anything like Iginla

as for the bold:

This is in no way a put down on Benn, but he's not even in the same dimension as RNH, let alone planet.

It's absurd statements like these that destroy all credibility.

Let's actually watch Benn before you say that.

Jamie Benn at 22 had a ppg of .89

Ryan Nugent Hopkins at 18 had a ppg of 0.84

How do you not realize that Hopkins being 4 years younger and producing at pretty much the same rate makes him far more valuable? Not only was the production very similar Hopkins also happens to be arguably the best PP player in the world as a ****ing teenager. Sorry to break it to you Nuge>>Benn.

This thread was started by an Oiler fan and not many DAL fans have defended Benn. Stop bashing Benn. He is a damn good player.
