The Hand of God needs to come out of retirement if this Big Mac claim turns out to be true

Grew up playing hockey with Dejan. Always a fun, talented, and passionate guy. Also a me first attitude with legit integrity issues.

Hope he gets Rossi's gig soon, at least Dejan is a student of the game, and some job security would likely lead to better reporting.

That's not what I want.

Whether he fought or not, enforcers are useless. They never fight the guys that matter anyway. They just fight other fighters. Two useless guys come on the ice, they fight, then two useless guys are taken back off the ice. The whole thing is one useless sideshow that only exists to appease the fans that get off on watching guys fight.

Having guys that can actually play the game and can defend themselves is what's important. In that regard, the Pens are fine. But I see very little point to "enforcers" like MacIntyre in today's NHL.

Me too bro. Starting to get nervous that the naysayers have been right all along though.

Agreed. I could even live with just Glasser.

Why not? It's not like there's 15 Shawn Thorntons in the Eastern Conference. A loss like Asham sucks, no doubt, and we haven't really replaced him, but it's not like the addition of Parros to the conference is a matter for concern.

Bortuzzo is a real intriguing guy. Not much to write home about with the puck on his stick, but a good skater for such a large frame, and seems fairly polished.

Yeah I really hope Bort makes the team, at least in a number 7 role.

Am I the only one that thinks Despres always comes off as a drunk in his interviews lol. I'm just waiting for him to hiccup.

His big shot has finally come. Since the opener is only days away, I'm guessing the lines are going to be pretty static this week in order to get everyone on the same page. If he can't look good playing with those two then I don't know what.

One step closer to ending all the "can Tangradi be a legit top-six player" discussion.

Adding Tangradi, Despres and Bortuzzo to this team would do wonders.

Not to pile on and be part of the "Tangradi sucks" crowd, but I think part of his problem is his game not being able to adjust to the NHL. He gets to the NHL and looks like a different player, a much worse player than he is in the AHL.

Not ruling him out yet, but my projection of him is fringe player/AHL all star.

I just don't get how it wouldn't translate. He has size, strength, and hands. I think it will just take time and real opportunity. Hopefully he will be given a chance so we can see once and for all.

I still think a lot of that is overthinking. Whether its something he can get over or not I don't know, but if that's what it is I can't imagine it helps that he gets benched if he makes a single mistake.

Really excited about Bennett, can't wait to see what he can do.

I'd also like to see Niskanen on the first line with Letang (assuming we don't trade for a vet D-man). He was very solid last year and can be pretty slick at times. If he continues to improve, he'll be quite an asset.

just out of curiousity, why is dejan's career on the line? seems like he's presently positioned as the trib's smizik. either way, not much use for the guy's opinion but respect his prior reporting.

He's higher in the food chain that Rob Rossi. Getting his job would be a demotion.

I do too, and that comes from Disco forcing guys to play a totally different style of game then their own.

You can just do what comes naturally that you are gifted at, you need to stop and take a second to think about what your next move is supposed to be instead of just playing like you always have.
