MacIntyre is maybe too tough for the NHL. No one wants to fight him because he is a killer when he drops the gloves. Problem is he can't really contribute much of anything else. Isn't quick enough to land big hits and rarely just will grab someone and beat the snot out of him (although he has done it occassionally).

I really like Smac though. Seems like an awesome person off the ice. Best of luck to him.

Was wondering if some team would put a claim in on him.

Don't get used to him in Toronto, though...at some point they're going to want to send him down and will have to put him back on waivers.

Real tough to permanently commit an NHL roster spot to this particular guy for 48 games..especially with all the maintenance games guys are going to need in a compressed season.

Terrifying fighter and phenomenal deterrent, but the guy can't be trusted even for one or two shifts per game, so what use is he? Makes Can Janssens look like Valeri Kharlamov. Worst "hockey player" I have any recollection of seeing in an NHL uniform.

That's another limiting factor. I've simply never seen so many "enforcers" flat out duck a fight with another enforcer as I've seen with MacIntyre. It's ridiculous how many "tough guys" just want nothing to do with him. Enforcer would try to start a fight with Asham, MacIntyre would push him, enforcer would run to the bench immediately.

Did you see what the NE teams did?

Boston we know
Ottawa, added Latendresse to go with Neil
Montreal added Prust, Army to go with Moen and White
Buffalo added Ott and Scott

The Leafs needed to get some more jam.

Nobody seemed to want to fight him when he was on the ice in the NHL so he was useless for the Penguins. Hopefully he gets some good fights for Toronto if true.

MacIntyre is a good teammate and a monster goon. But he can't play hockey at all, and nobody wants to fight him. Even in the AHL nobody wanted to try him after his first month with the Baby Pens. Until he snapped, that is...

So he's going to see about 10 games this year if he makes the Leafs. I guess he's better than a broken Orr, but he can't play hockey. Pure enforcer.

I don't think Orr can play. His head is all messed up. Last time he played against Boston I remember Thornton taking it easy on him. ST could have destroyed him, but gave a couple half-***** shots and just held his ground. Colton is done.

I believe the 48 hour weekend waivers have been done away with. Still don't see how anyone could know if MacIntyre was claimed or not. This reminds me of one of those things that starts with someone saying "Leafs should pick up Mac" that turns into truth via twitter.
